name sets

Have played several seasons now and have noticed in even first year drafts the names of some ethnic backgrounds still have yet to change. What can I do to fix this??? Had thought this was taken care of when OOTP19 came out …. I know this might seem trivial to most people but I know a few of us care about this

I'm not entirely clear on what you're describing here. Can you give us more information?

I think the short version of the question is 1) can the naming files be edited and 2) if so, how?

Documents > Out of the Park Developments > OOTP 19 > Database

All the name files are in there. Open/edit/save using Notepad. Reload name database in League Settings.

This will tell you what your looking for in the name files:

My name files are in the Program Files path instead of Documents. Does that matter?

When you look at Israeli names they are STILL muslim or arabic names NOT Jewish or Hebrew names even American Jewish names. Was supposed to have been fixed for OOTP 19 Its a pet peeve I have had for sometime now

Go to Game Settings > Database > Database Tools (dropdown menu). Choose "re-import name and ethnicity database." It will take a while, so be patient. If that doesn't work, I'm stumped.

No, it won't have any effect on players that have already been created. It will just update the databases for players created from the point of the reload and after.

my game crashed again as usual (game memory leak issue as what I was told by staff) …. so I decided to do the re-import now and its done..... now play on to May 7th

Are you getting any Israeli names or are they all Arab? If it's a mix, that's because 15% of Israeli players will have Arabic names - that's how Israel is set up in the world default file. Can you provide a screen shot showing a list of the rookies that you created after you re-imported the names databases?

All arabs ... I do not expect any Arab to play under Israeli flag for obvious reasons. So the point is it should be 100% Israeli Jewish Hebrew and American Hebrew names. Instead all I get are Arabic Muslim names

OK, I need you to provide all of the relevant information up front - this Q&A format isn't working. All of the nuts-and-bolts stuff, such as:

which version number do you have;
do you have the Israeli (40) nameset in your names files;
if so, did you install it yourself;
have you made any changes to any other files (e.g. the world default file);
are you having any problems with any other nameset, or is it just Israel;
you mentioned you were having other problems with OOTP - do you think there's a connection;
anything else that you can think of that might be relevant.
