Question about the newest update
If I've made an edited quickstart that has not advanced past the first day, do I have to redo the quickstart or will the update 2018 draftees show up.
I mean if I start a new game from that saved quickstart will the updated draftees show up or do I have to start a new game completely and then do all the editing I did and then save as a new quickstart. Last edited by LunchBox; 07-07-2018 at 10:02 AM. |

You have to start a new game completely.

What did you Edit? Putting Joey Bart on Giants? Casey Mize on Tigers?

no, no players edits of any kind... I always make a quickstart every year after I edit all MLB, MiLB, and North American Indy League stadiums using Gambos stadium chart to get the park factors... after I measure every stadium by hand on google earth or get actual stadium plans with dimensions and I make sure every team has correct logos, ballcaps and jerseys... and I usually put unused but still standing stadiums in all the stadiums that aren't being used in any league in the world so if a team moves I already have stadiums ready, or if I need minor league teams for expansion teams or decide to add a new indy league or whatnot.

I do the same. Update some transactions that happened a day or two after opening day that the QS doesn't recognize (Blackmon extension for example) and then I save the game as a template. But I'm going to restart everything now that the 2018 draft class is pretty well updated. |

OK, when the Dev's update the game, they update the opening day rosters, ie, they update the ratings of players and who are on the opening day rosters in all leagues. In independent leagues, that usually means that transactions have happened after MLB opening day as each independent league has an opening day that happen after MLB's opening day which this year was either March 30th or 31st. However, the MLB rosters stay frozen in time to the date of opening day, maybe some minor transactions that have happened after opening day, like say a minor league free agent signing in the 1st week of April may make the updates. Any updates to the draft classes are ratings updates for the players in said draft class and adding players to said draft class and not, I repeat, not to what team these players are on, because afaik OOTP does not update along with transactions of the current season, at least until they may put out a September roster update. In short, none of the players in this year's draft are on their "correct" teams when you start a new game in OOTP, because in OOTP when you start a new game the draft hasn't happened yet as it is only opening day (actually new games in OOTP 19 start on March 8th, 2018) and the draft is 3 months of in game time away. I knew that and only talking about Drafted guys on the Team that Drafted them but maybe after the Signing Date has passed.
