Question About A/I Player Evaluation

Hey guys, I'm looking for what you all use for percentages for A/I evaluation. I'm not sure mine are all that good. I use 30% Ratings, 50% Current Year Stats, 15% Previous Year and 5% Two Year Previous.

Would greatly appreciate hearing yours.

Wow! That's really interesting. I was thinking about adjusting ratings upward.

I think you could decide based on what you're trying to go for in the game. For a competitive game, I would recommend having a pretty high dependence on scout ratings, and then a relatively low influence from stats, just the amount that reflects the chance that a player's good or bad performances are actually the result of a real difference in his real ratings that isn't picked up by the scout (scouting error). Maybe 75/15/10/5, or 86/8/4/2? 93/4/2/1?

But I think adding more reliance on stats can make the game a bit more fun, since it causes player performances to actually have an effect on valuations as it probably should in real life. If your player plays well, everybody might want them. If they do poorly, you might be stuck with them because nobody wants to give you a good deal for them, and you have to hope they do better in the future. You can also more easily pick up guys having a bad year, which can seem to be a risk, unlike with 100% ratings where you should be able to pick up a guy putting in great performances as easily as any other player with the same AI valuations, and that doesn't seem as fun to me.

Great perspective. Really like the post.
I do not have much fun with the scouting system. The development, aging and injury systems turn quality into mediocrity or uselessness often enough that even when I know how good a player is and can be the changes are probably coming.

I started using 71/14/10/5. I'll see how that goes. Initial impression is that it's working much better than the old 50/30/15/5 I was using.

Thanks everyone!!
