Is this draft/feeder leagues formula still valid?

Way back in July 2011, Biggio509 posted a formula for figuring the number of rounds a draft should have and the number of teams the feeder leagues should have to fill that draft.

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=211757

{rounds needed = 5 * number of minor league levels}
{feeder teams needed = (number of teams in league * number of draft rounds)/6}

For whatever reason (I had too many draft rounds as a default setting?), as I set up a new league in OOTP19, the game figured I should have 576 feeder teams (96 college + 480 high school teams). Using Biggio's formula, I should only need 160 feeder teams for my 32-team major league (each major league team has 6 minor league affiliates).

Before I delete 400+ unnecessary teams, I would just like to know if this formula is still applicable to OOTP19. Thanks.

It is pretty much still accurate. The total number of teams you need changes based on what ratio you're using for HS/College. I've posted a few thoughts here:

I don't think I could ever play with feeders turned on as I like to play with all of the Indy and most foreign leagues and with the feeders for MLB on the sim speeds are absolutely horrible.

Its a 6th gen i7 overclocked too. Wonder if more cores would help sim speed. I'm not sure. I would like to test a 16 core Ryzen chip against OOTP sim speeds.

If you ever test this, I'd love to find out the results. When OOTP went multi-thread, it definitely made a huge difference.

On another note, pertaining to the OP, does the game scale your feeder leagues according to the level of talent needed in the draft? One time, I deleted half of the MLB affiliated minor leagues and let the MLB teams draft the free agents created as a result. Due to the density of talent in the minors, the game then diluted the heck out of drafts for a long time until there was whatever talent equilibrium it tries to create. I wasn't sure how creating feeder leagues would affect that process.
