Oh, this is too much

Weak grounder to the mound. Pitcher fields immediately. Holds the ball for three seconds. Tosses lightly to first. Safe.

Batter has a speed of 38 (1-100)

It’s just a 3D thing. The math behind the play is the math of the program...if that makes sense.

Yes, I understand the graphics are just a representation of what the actual play was.

However, in what universe is a relatively- slow runner going to hit a grounder to the pitcher and be safe at first, barring an error?

You also have an infielder holding a relay throw from the outfield while a runner chugs the 90 feet between third and home. Again, these are things that future games will probably refine.

Don't remember word for word, but it was pretty much:

"___ hits a weak grounder to the mound...
Fielded cleanly by Rios...
...the throw to first...
SAFE!"

Definitely no error, struggle to get the ball out of the glove, nothing.

Hmm... defensive ratings of the pitcher? Of the 1B?

Was the ball stuck in the pitchers glove?
Did he 3 hop the ball to first?

Yeah, it'll continue to improve, but in the interim these are the kinds of thoughts (rationalizations?) I tend to implement. Along with the occasional, "Are you frickin' kidding me?????"

Do what I do whenever a guy misbehaves. Yell at him, curse at him, and then write four paragraphs on how you want to see his guts rotting in the sun.
