OOTP creates chances to learn in so many areas
I was just thinking this morning - not only does OOTP allow you to learn the ins and outs of the rules of baseball, different financial systems, etc, but it also gives you a chance to learn about other skills in a baseball environment. The forum is full of people who are expert database gurus, graphic designers, computer coders, financiers, and so on. Not only are they all in one place, but all of us regular folk have a chance to use the tools and groundwork they've laid to learn ourselves - and all while talking about baseball!
Thanks OOTP! |

Yeah it's funny now I look at my real life team's transactions and fully understand the lingo and why sometimes they are optioned or sometimes they are placed on assignment and can see the flow of how a team operates with a 40 man roster and how they handle their prospects. It makes following your team that much more fun.

So true. I always try to learn at least one new thing every day, sports related or not. I've learned so much from being on these forums the past six years in all sorts of areas. Best community for a video game I've ever came across.
