GM Contract Renewal Issue-FHM 4

I have been unable to get past the beginning GM stage of the game on the GM (only) and Cannot be Fired settings. Even though I have won Stanley Cups with two teams and finished in the playoffs on the remaining years of my contract, the contract is not renewed or I am offered a much,much lower salary to stay. As soon as I reject it, another GM is immediately hired at a higher salary and I have to start all over again as an inexperienced GM. What is the problem and how do I resolve it?

What's your current salary, and how much are you being offered in the new contract? And is this a modern or historical game?

The salary for a new contract is 200,000 less than the original contract; either this happens or the contract is not renewed at all and I am unemployed.

It is a modern game.

I think I'm going to have to have a look at the save to try to see the specifics of what's going on - my first guess is something being off with the team's staff budget that's resulting in weird offers, but I can't be sure. Can you upload it for us to check? Instructions are here.
