O’s in this game
The fun after years of not playing every game is to see how much work you really have 45-100 and slowly finishing the season waiting for a patch before my 1st offseason.
Manny, Jones, Zach all traded Hays, Schoop, Bundy and Gausman are who I built around, but the urge to move Schoop and Gausman is there, but heck 45 wins might be more than the real life team gets this year. Love this game and hoping the patch comes before I finish the year. Season 2 I just want a 20 win increase. |

In my sim, Schoop isn’t good and Bundy gets constant injuries. It might be a good time for you to trade them.
Best of luck with your Os. Their farm system is mostly barren. Fortunately for you, the scout retires at the end of the year so you can hire a better one. |

As someone posted, Austin Hays will most likely win ROY. He won it in my Red Sox save.He turned out to be a solid player in my game. Hold on to him.

Santander and Stewart also have a good shot at working out in the game. One time I saw Stewart turn into a really great DH. He batted second and was on base constantly. He hit for some power too.
At his best, Santander is a power hitting cleanup hitter. |

I started an O's rebuild just the other day....How did you get Jones to waive his no-trade clause? I cannot get him to go anywhere. Had a hell of a time moving Davis' crazy contract as well...Texas took him and I only had to retain a little over 3 million.

There have been lots of posts describing how the game craps all over the Orioles. Here’s another funny example. In 2018 I traded away all of the Os bad contracts, then extended Machado.
After the season I made a big splash by signing Bryce Harper. Machado and Harper in the middle of the order has to be good, right? Right? Not so fast! The game has built-in “storylines” and the one for the Orioles is simply that everything about them stinks. So to fit the storyline, Machado is hitting .218/.299/.299 and Harper is hitting .206/.242/.354. Isn’t that funny? It’s only May 2 in the game but our record is 8-16 and we’re basically done for the year already. The lengths the game goes to fit players and teams to the predetermined storylines is hilarious, you have to admit. |

I can't tell you how many times I've started below par in a game only to rebound and make the playoffs. I had one season a couple OOTPs ago where I started somewhere around 15-30 with a definite 100 win roster, lost one of my two elite SPs for the year, and rebounded to have the most wins in the league. You can't let 15% of your season determine that your team is worse than you thought it might be. |

My Trade AI settings are set at Very Difficult / favor prospects. I just traded him the in the off-season going into 2021, but I had to package him with my #3 starter / SP prospect, and two others, and I still had to retain about 55% of his contract! In return, I did get a decent utility OF; it took a lot of work (and I don't use the "Stars"). But I just had to move him. Last year, he was batting .141 and I had to take him out of the line-up for most of the season after June. I think the year prior, it was like .175 or something (but he did have a decent HR total, because I DH'd him so much). Anyway, it actually seemed to make sense for the other team, as they get a controllable #3 / #4 SP (with only 1 year of service time) and a couple "Ok" to marginal prospects, for like $10 million over the next two years (what they had to pay Davis). And it made sense for my club as I have a couple good SP prospects that might be ready in 2021, and instead of cutting him and eating the whole $23 million over the next couple of years, I was able to save about $10 million per year till the end of his contract. |
