Jack McCarthy 1893

McCarthy was a decent outfielder at the turn of the century, and was a starter on the first 3 Cleveland teams in the American League. He is pictured here on the 1902 Cleveland Bronchos.

Sammy Strang 1896

Mostly known for his years with the New York Giants, Strang did spend a year and a half languishing in Brooklyn. He is pictured here on the 1903 Brooklyn Superbas.

Cupid Childs 1888

After a long and very good career playing for the Cleveland Spiders, Childs spent the last year and a half playing for the Chicago Orphans (Cubs). He is pictured here in the final year of his career in 1901.

I may or may not take a final trip. Couldn't find a Scherman file but I haven't given up on it. Ryerson as a Brewer was, I thought, sold by the Vault but I can't find it in any of the usual archives. Jutze no. Papi definitely not. I'm confident Lewis, Paul Reuschel and Lonborg exist. Didn't look for Hundley - will.

New to the photo posting so forgive me if this has been posted or is something that is not needed, but figured I would post it in case.

As a Bill Lee fan...this is a bit of a stab to my heart (although, I'm not blaiming Stan Papi himself for The Trade That Will Go Down In Infamy....)

(As an FYI: the 1976 White Sox wore 1975 Unis in spring training so there's a group of guys new to Chicago in 1976 who have been found wearing the '75 red uniforms).

ROHR Les (Brewers 1971)*no

Rohr failed his physical with the Brewers and was returned to the Mets before ST '71. That would explain where are no pics of him in a Brewer uni.

Another Billy Ging Option?

Ebay seller ritamoio has up for auction a cabinet photo that is labeled William Joseph Ging Boston Beaneaters 1899. Up until recently, Ging was a missing player until a small family photo was posted here. If anybody cares, here's the link to compare what has been previously posted.

Roy Wright 1956

Roy Wright, pitcher, Giants. He passed away on May 5, and his obituary is just being reported in baseball circles. Is that perhaps the reason for the photo request?

P.S. Just glanced at the General Discussion thread and see that a similar image of Wright appears there. This photo was from my own collection.

More Coming Attractions

File this under misfiled - and now found. There IS a shoot of the late tragic Brewer prospect Sundown Dan Thomas. Topps Vault guy’s putting it on the sell-soon pile.
