"Can you create a league that" question...

Hi All,

I am going to buy the game again but want to know, as I gave up years ago, can I create a league solo or preferably with human owners, that falls into this general outline:

* 24 to 30 teams
* Draft league
* If not a draft league, starting with a core of preset or opening day MLB starting rosters.
* Playing our own teams home or road games and submitting files to the commissioner. Similar to other text games that we have been accustomed to for so many years.
* Not using the financial front office part of the game so only using the players and roster management.
* Farm system, on or off option and what are the consequences of on or off.

Any feedback as to how you all feel about the game probably is on the board somewhere but I do welcome your personal replies. Perhaps someone that came from APBA BBW, Diamond Mind or S-O-M can provide some depth on moving over or adding OOTP as an additional option for gameplay and how that now impacts your game life would be appreciated.:-)

That should cover it. I do appreciate your replies and assistance.

Thank you!

Tony

1. Yes - you can create custom leagues of pretty much any size. 24 to 30 teams is no problem.

2. Yes - you can certainly have an inaugural draft - real or fictional players

3. See #2

4. Head to Head isn't possible, cannot play out your own games. Owners submit line-ups/roster changes via file export. Commish imports owner files, then runs sim. New file upload which owners can then access and download. Make changes and submit for next sim.

5. You can disable financials if you wish/

6. Minors are optional. You can choose to have all levels, some levels, or you can disable minors. If disabled, you will have a reserve roster. With reserve rosters your prospects will still develop but you won't see any stats for them.

I appreciate your answers.

So, how does one view actual gameplay on your screen if you are not playing the games and the games are simmed daily?

Thank you!

For online leagues, you don't view the games when they're being played out. The Commish could, since the person simming can watch/mange games.

I have heard of leagues where the Commish does a live video stream of the games as he plays them out, with owners watching online. So it would be possible that way I suppose. Not up on those sort of things myself, but it can be done.

do you have access to watching replays with online leagues? check settings to make sure that stuff is retained, if so.

could watch them after the week sims.
