Ok newbie in need of help

Ok I just got game 2 days ago and man am I overwhelmed lol. Was wondering if anyone here can give me some tips as far as what do i look for when taking control of a team? I am playing the 2018 Yankees being a yankee fan and my pitching seems to be a tad underwhelming. This game is so deep. I know nothing about farm system and minors due to really not following the in real life. So what do you guys do once you take control of a team? And how do you go about doing it? And do you suggest playing GM and manager or one or the the other as a newb?

I would suggest doing only one of the two roles, you can delegate many things until you are comfortable with the game. The depth of this is unbelievable, you discover new things every time you play, take your time. Don’t be afraid to start over with things you have learned from mistakes, everyone here has made many mistakes and started their league again with what they have learned; ask questions, people here are very helpful all you have to do is ask the questions.
Above all have fun, OOTP is very addicting and lots of fun.
