D & D to your active roster which must have space.

What if I don’t want him on my active roster what do I do then, and what do you do when you have several guys that need to come off and no room on you active roster?
What do you suggest I do?

And when someone gets injured and will be out for 4-5 months the DL only goes up to 60 days so what do i do with him?

Best way to handle this is probably to select a rehab assignment for him which will send him to your highest level (I believe) minor league team for a limited period of time (I don't remember right now how many days and I think it's different for hitters than pitchers.) This gives you time to formulate a plan. And if they have been out for very long it gives the added bonus of them getting back into playing shape.

Not to worry. DL times are minimums, not maximums. A guy on the 60-day DL can't be brought back before 60-days but he can remain on the DL much longer than 60-days- basically as long as it takes.

Oh cool thank you so much. Now here is another question. Do you simulate every game or do you use the option simulate until an event? I’m just trying to figure out what the best method is he getting the game down I enjoy watching the games but I’m playing as general manager right now so I really am not In control of who steals how to pitch when to hit etc. once I get a little better with the game then I will play both general manager and manager.

This is so much a matter of personal preference and really no right or wrong way to do it.
As a relative newbie I will tell you what has worked for me so far.

In my first primary project (Colorado Rockies historical game starting with 1993 season) I settled into a pattern where I liked to take it week-by-week, playing out 1 game per week and simming the rest. I generally like to play as GM and manager both but don't like to do a lot of in-game managing so I basically set up the overall strategies and use 7-day lineups to set up the week but then I let the AI take care of in-game strategies and substitutions.

But now I have switched to a fictional league and, especially with the 3D improvements in OOTP19, I am playing out every single game my team plays. Still, as above, mostly just watching and letting the AI make the moves but occasionally I will jump in when I feel the need- usually to make a pitching substitution.

You will find folks here who sim seasons at a time and quickly get to 100 years of history in a league. You will find others who manage pitch-to-pitch, every single game their team plays.

Whatever works for you, that is the way to go.
But for me, if I am playing with a team I don't know well (and especially in the case of a team/league of fictional players), I like to move more slowly and really watch as the season unfolds. (Right now, in my current fictional project, I am even watching every Arizona Fall League game of the team that contains members of my organization. And loving it!)

Wow awesome. So when you set up the 7 day lineup look at what pictures you are facing and make the appropriate changes in the lineup whether it be a right-handed pitcher or left-handed pitcher? And when you play the game or watch the game on fold do you just click the add back button or the swing button or is there anyway just let the game unfold in front of you without touching anything and let the manager take control of all of that ? I would like to thank you very very much for responding to my questions I am getting hooked on this game I can’t wait till I know more.

Yes, basically. But be aware that things can change during the week and the expected pitchers might not end up being who you face on a given day. (Injuries, etc., can cause the other team to alter plans.) Now that I think of it, the way I usually handled it was to sim day by day and just check before each game to see if I needed to make any adjustments. But I would still move through the week pretty quickly. But when I actually play games out I do just have it set up to pause between each at-bat and hit the enter key to proceed when ready.

Always happy to help. As I said, I'm a relative newbie myself and have been the beneficiary of the friendly help this forum provides. And I too am hooked on this game!

Is there anyway to change to manager spot mid game? My manager is leaving my picture in and he’s getting whacked. I want to take them out but it says I don’t control that option. Is there anyway for me to change it ?

Yes. Go up to Options (upper right-hand corner of game screen) and choose Game Options from drop-down menu. You can then switch to set all options to your control and then you can make any change you want and re-enter the game. Trick then though is that you will have control over everything. So you can go back into controls and change the control back over to the AI and proceed. That's a bit clumsy but honestly the way I've been doing it. Probably better to just change Game Options (before game or any time during game) so that you just take control over substitutions for your team. That will mean any substitutions of course, not just pitching changes. So remember to make any pinch-hitting, pinch-running, defensive substitutions, etc. as the AI won't do this if you have control over this aspect of the game.

No problem. You really can do as little or as much as you wish. If all you want to do is yank a pitcher who you think the AI is sticking with too long then go into game options and take over for a second and make the change and then assign the AI to take over everything again.I'm not sure if you have to re-enter the game first so that the change sticks or not but if so then just go back into options and switch control back to AI and re-enter game again. As I said, it's pretty clumsy but if this isn't something you are having to do often it isn't a big deal. Now granted, the AI might pull the guy you just inserted into the game after one batter. But at least you got the guy out of the game who you thought needed to be pulled.
