Schedule Generation Woes

I've had two consecutive years in a row where the only change that I made to the league was to prohibit interleague play (I despise it) and the schedule creation is only creating 154 games despite the setup that you see in the screenshot.

It clearly says 162 games. No matter what I do it keeps creating for 154 games.

Any ideas, thoughts? I don't have the patience or skills to manually enter all the games.

Prohibiting an inter league schedule won't help if you don't have the right league structure. Post a screenshot of your standings.

Also post your schedule file name.

I imagine the problem is you're using schedule loaded from file and (I'm guessing) it included inter-league games so when you chose no inter league play it just deleted those games and didn't generate new ones to replace it. In preseason what you'll need to do is mark the choices you want... then delete any schedule that would be loaded from file and then have it generate a new schedule. If you always have a file named in that spot then it will always generate games from it. You will either have to just let it generate a "random" one based on your choices (no IL, balanced or unbalanced, etc.) OR find another schedule file that matches your league setup and your choices. And the ONLY time you can do this is in the pre-season. (I think... though I may be wrong about that... can't really remember for sure now).

Isn't it major_league_ml_c_2018.lsdl? My eyes are bad but that's what it looks like to me.

Right.

But as OldFatGuy said, the game probably deleted the inter-league games you didn't want and didn't create new games.

You should look for a schedule that fits your settings here

Just add 8 games to the 154 game schedule.

It isn't that hard unless you have 200 plus team league's .

You said the only changes you made was to prohibit interleague play? Am I correct in assuming this is a MLB quickstart setup? If so, simply turning off interleague play is not possible due to there being an odd number(15) teams in each league. In order to get rid of interleague play, you will have to altar your league setup. You either need to expand to 32 teams, so you have 16 teams in each league. Contract 2 teams so you have 14 teams in each league, or move a team from one league to the other so you have a 16/14 or 14/16 setup.

Keep in mind, even if you make the change to even number teams, you still have to know if the game has a schedule available to fit your setup. If there is a schedule available, the easiest change would be to simply move a team from AL to NL or vice versa. Doing this would mean you wouldn't have to worry about adding any minor league teams. Adding minor league teams will only give you more schedule woes to worry about.

Just checked and there is a schedule file available in game for a setup using 30 teams. 16 in AL, 14 in NL or 14 in AL and 16 in NL. Both require a 4 division setup, two 7 team divisions in one league, two 8 team divisions in the other.

There are 28 team schedule files available. There are 32 team schedule files available as well. But, those setups would require you to edit minor leagues as well.

Thanks to all in this thread. I figured it out and downloaded a schedule from the link someone provided and it worked like a charm!
