Question on bullpen roles if you are managing games out

I was wondering if it matters what assigned roles play for relievers if you are managing out games. I have, for a long time, been careful to assign what I think I will use them for to set expectations, thinking that this might affect performance. Wondering if that is a waste of time or not.

Example - I set up my two "Setup" guys to both pitch in the 7th or later so that if I bring them in then, they aren't "surprised" and thus do not perform.

If you manage everything for your team, then the roles don't matter. That's only for the AI to use.

Slight caveat: if like me you get disgusted with your team in a blowout and use "sim half inning" or "sim rest of game" the AI will run your team for you.

I wish I could see what roles I had set for the players during the games. If I don't know the team very well, I'm not going to remember who I decided to give some role, so I have to analyze and compare their ratings again from scratch in the game.

If you're referring to pitchers, you can see their roles in ootp 19 with the new player screens, as shown in the image that I've attached. I use this quite a lot myself to keep track of my team because I've already had to redo my bullpen once due to promotions and demotions.

No, I meant the roles like Setup, Middle Reliever, etc.

It has the roles on that screen...doesn't it? In the brackets ( ) at the end of the names?
