			June 1885 Update  American League Buffalo Bison (36-14) The month of May saw the Bison win 11 straight games. Led by the trio of Hardy Richardson (.344, 3 HR, 30 RBIs), Jim O"Rourke (.337, 4 HR, 37 RBIs) and John Clarkson (14-2, 2.05 era). O"Rourke and Clarkson were named Batter and Pitcher of the Month. St Louis Browns (30-20) A 8-2 record in the past 10 games has the Browns clinging to second place over slumping Providence Grays. Bob Caruthers (9-4, 2.33 era) is leading the pitching staff.Caruthers fired a No Hitter on May 15th. Providence Grays (26-23) Grays are on a 7 game losing streak. Jack Glasscock (.324, 2 HR, 26 RBIs) leads the team. Detroit (25-27) Mickey Welch (9-5, 3.40 era) made History by throwing the League's first Perfect Game on May 26th. New York Metropolitans (24-26) New York had a nice month of May, going 17-12. Bob Emslie (8-9, 1.86 era) is one of the League's leaders in ERA. Philadelphia Athletics (24-27) Rookie Henry Moore (.330, 28 RBIs) was named the Rookie of the Month. Louisville Colonels (23-27) Jocko Mulligan (.389, 4 HR, 32 RBIs) is the leading AL batter. Baltimore Orioles (13-37) Orioles go 6-22 in May. Rated last in all batting stats. National League Chicago White Stockings (29-21) Dan Brothers (.327, 8 HRs, 40 RBIs) is the NL HR leader. Bill Sweeney (13-4, 3.03 era) leads the NL in wins. Cincinnati Red Stockings (26-24) Adonis Terry (12-5, 2.35 era) is named Pitcher of the Month. St Louis Maroons (26-24) Cap Anson (.314, 3 HR, 32 RBIs) and Billy Henry Taylor (8-4, 3.24 era) lead the team. Pittsburgh Alleghenys (25-25) Roger Connor (.311, HR, 23 RBIs). hit .295 in May. Jim Whitney (10-7, 2.33 era) leads the staff. Boston Beaneaters (24-26) Boston pulls off a 15-13 month. Still rated last in the NL in batting stats. New York Gothams (23-25) Fred Lewis (.345, HR, 13 RBIs) is off to a career year. Philadelphia Quakers (24-28) Dick McBride (6-6, 3.69 era) is retiring at the end of the season. Brooklyn Grays (23-27) Old Hoss Radbourn (10-8, 2.28 era) leads the team. Teams is ranked near the bottom of the defense stats.

			July 1885 Update  American League Buffalo Bison (54-20) Bison went 18-6 in June thanks to the efforts of pitchers Ed Morris (18-6, 1.93 era) and John Clarkson (18-5, 2.27 era). Morris goes 8-0 during the month to earn the Pitcher of the Month award. St Louis Browns (46-30) Browns were in the hunt until they messed with us. We took 4 out of 6. Bob Caruthers (16-5, 2.64 era) is holding the team together. Providence Grays (44-30) Grays are clawing their way back thanks to a 9 game winning streak. Charlie Ferguson (18-6, 1.37 era) and Jack Glasscock (.307, 2 HR, 34 RBIs) are leading the team. New York Metropolitans (38-38) New York pulled back to .500 thanks to a 7 game winning streak. They swept Detroit in 4 games. Detroit Wolverines (36-41) Jumbo McGinnis (15-8, 2.35 era) is 5-3 in June. Dave Orr (.330, 8 HR, 39 RBIs) is the AL leader in HR. Philadelphia Athletics (33-42) Rookie Henry Moore (.333, HR, 45 RBIs) and Alex Voss (12-7, 2.75 era) are the only bright spots. Louisville Colonels (31-44) Jocko Milligan (.336, 5 HR, 43 RBIs) and Pete Browning (.311, 3 HR, 35 RBIs) are shouldering the work load. Baltimore Orioles (20-57) Rated last is almost every statistical category. The worst team in the League. National League Chicago White Stockings (43-33) Dan Brothers (.349, 9 HR, 54 RBIs) is tearing up the league. Bill Sweeney (18-7, 2.64 era) is doing well. Pittsburgh Alleghenys (42-35) 17-10 record in June will help Pittsburgh make up ground. Jim Whitney (16-10, 2.03 era) is leading the staff. Cincinnati Red Stockings (41-35) Adonis Terry (16-10, 2.44 era) and John Reilly (.303, 3 HR, 53 RBIs) are leaders. St Louis Maroons (41-35) Cap Anson (.330, 4 HR, 43 RBIs) is still going strong. Jersey Bakley (17-7, 1.81 era) Brooklyn Grays (36-40) Old Hoss Radbourn (16-11, 2.22 era) is the only star. Philadelphia Quakers (36-41) Charley Jones (.319, 3 HR, 54 RBIs). Quakers had a slightly better month than the past. New York Giants (32-42) Dismal 9-17 month. James Burke (15-9, 1.89 era) is having a career year. Boston Beaneaters (32-42) Losers of 10 straight. Worst team batting in the NL.

			Pennant Update  American League Buffalo Bison (68-30) Bison are about to clinch their 2nd pennant and anther trip to the World Series. They must first finish off Philadelphia and Detroit. Hardy Richardson (.345, 5 HR, 67 RBIs) and Jim O'Rourke (.352, 4 HR, 61 RBIs) are leading the AL in batting. Rookie Mike Tiernan is tearing up the league (.298, HR, 47 RBIs). Tiernan was batting .377 in June and .338 in July. St Louis Browns (59-39) Can Bob Caruthers (16-6, 2.66 era) lead the team back from the brink. They do not play the Bison again this season. National League Pittsburgh Alleghenys (57-42) Where did Pittsburgh come from? A 15-7 run this month. Jim Whitney (20-11, 2.05 era ) is hoping to stay in the lead. St Louis Maroons (54-44) Maroons are clinging on the hope that Jersey Blakley (18-10, 2.03 era) and Cap Anson (.348, 5 HR, 61 RBIs) can lead them. Chicago White Stockings (54-44) Dan Brothers (.350, 11 HR, 68 RBIs) is hoping for a World Series appearance.

			April 26th 1886 Update  The first update of the season sees the Washington Nationals holding on to second place. This season will see a new member of the starting rotation. Rookie Ice Box Chamberlain (3-2, 2.45 era) joins Ed Morris (4-2, 2.83 era) and Jack Clarkson (4-2, 1.27 era). The Nationals are only a half game back of the Philadelphia Atheltics. As a team the Nationals are 6th in team batting with Mike Tiernan (.308, 2 HR, 9 RBIs) and Curt Welch (.288, 7 RBIs) are producing. Elsewhere in the league: Pete Browning (Louisville .413, 8 RBIs) leads the Al in batting. While Jimmy Ryan (Beaneaters .397, 3 HR, 11 RBIs) leads the NL. Toad Ramsey (Philadelphia 5-1, 1.19 era) is the AL pitching leader and on the other side of the league Tommy Bond (Pitsburgh 5-0, 1.20 era) leads the NL.

			May 17th 1886 Update  Washington Nationals Update: Nationals did not climb in the standing and are standing in second place just a half game behind the St Louis Browns. Our rotations is working well together. John Clarkson (8-4, 1.41 era) is leading the staff. Rookie Ice Box Chamberlain (6-6, 2.80 era) is still learning the ropes. Hardy Richardson (.315, 2 HR, 16 RBIs) is our leading batter. News around the league: Cap Anson (St Louis Maroons) belted his 2000th hit of his career. The New York Giants are about to jump out of the pack in the National League. Giants are relying on their young pitching staff, Stump Wiedman (9-2, 2.18 era) and James Burke (9-4, 1.57 era). Jack Rowe (.356, 2 HR, 20 RBIs) is top of the world, he is ranked second in Batting Average behind Paul Hines (.367, 3 HR, 21 RBIs) of Cincinnati

			June 6th 1886 Update  Washington Nationals Update: We climbed into First Place, thanks to our two series sweeps of New York and taking 3 of 6 from Philadelphia. John Clarkson (13-5, 1.81 era) and Ice Box Chamberlin (12-6, 2.42 era) are pulling the weight. Hardy Richardson (.297, 3 HR, 21 RBIs) and Mike Tiernan (.290, 2 HR, 21 RBIs). There are some surprises, Germany Smith leads the club in RBIs with 31 despite batting .236. And pitcher John Clarkson has 3HRs. League News: Shadow Pyle (New York, 3-2, 3.47 era) tosses a no hitter on May 31st. The New York Giants still have a four game lead over Pittsburgh despite not playing the best. Jimmy Ryan (Boston Beaneaters) keeps piling on the home runs, he has 8 now. Dan Brouthers (Chicago White Stockings) is the combined batting leader with .379.

John Clarkson (17-7, 1.92 era) picked up his very first No Hitter. Second year player Mike Tiernan (.303, 2 HR, 39 RBIs) is now our top hitter followed closely by Hardy Richardson (.296, 4 HR, 28 RBIs). League News: New York and Pittsburgh are almost neck and neck in the National League. Jimmy Ryan (Boston Beaneaters) and Frank Fennelly (Detroit) are leading in HRs, with 10 and 9. James Burke (New York Giants) is the Leagues top winner with 22 wins, with Tommy Bond (Pittsburgh) not far behind with 21.

St Louis Browns had lost 13 straight and we were on a 11 game winning streak, now the lead has shrunk to 1.5 games. League News: Pittsburgh overtook the Giants for first place in the National League. Tommy Bond (Pittsburgh) and James Burke (New York) are neck and neck with the most wins, 28 and 26 wins.
