Birth of a Franchise, Birth of a Career
Major League Baseball finally expanded again, this time to Mexico City and Omaha. The two brand new teams have two brand new managers. That includes the Prairie Wolves' rookie manager who has never been above a base coach in his young career before now.
The Prairie Wolves have hired 42-year-old Bo Vandy who is thought of as someone who certainly has a bright mind but very little experience. There are a couple of hills to climb for Vandy and the Prairie Wolves. While the Omaha Metro Area is certainly big enough to support a team, there really aren't any metro areas that are going to compete when it comes to population centers for other major league franchises. The Prairie Wolves open the season at home against the Philadelphia Phillies so we'll get to see what they have to offer, both game and roster wise rather quickly. |
