Player Development Updates

I was hoping someone could help me understand the player development updates I get from my head scout. I've attached two screen shots. In the email I received, it said that Brandon McCarthy improved from 2 to 5 stars as a SP (which doesn't make sense to begin with as he's a 35-yr old SP having a decent/mediocre season), but when I go to his page, he's still listed as 2 stars. What exactly am I missing here?

what's the "scouting" section say in the profile.

maybe somethign is odd with developement report?

i know there's some other circumstnce where the ovr/pot is incongruent with another screen. not from personal experience, but read enough posts of people with screenshots. thankfully, whatever i am focusing on is consistent, lol.

i only give that report a quick glance for any glaring red numbers for mlb players before deleting the email. if i'm looking at a player's growth or aging, i'm using the scouting report section of the profile. can see report-to-report and get a good grasp of change over time. from what i know, it is consistent with what the profile page says.
