Stop using injured players

Is there a setting I can change so that my manager never plays an injured player? For instance, if I have a SP that gets injured for 5 days and I just want to skip their turn in the rotation, but not send them on the DL, I do NOT want my manager using that guy as a reliever.

If you can control strategy, there is a setting to bench player for X days. If your manager does not allow you to control player strategy, then no.

That's more complicated than the blanket option I was hoping for, but it'll do. I can do strategy and looked on that screen, but must not have read carefully enough.

Thanks

you can do it per player too.

right click them -> context meno option - Game Strategies. (also under Individual STrategies under Team Strategy screen -- drag drop players to bottom poriton to change their personalized strategies.)

dropdown option on right for that players... manger's pref, minimal, moderate etc...

these reset if they leave your team - no worries. they are also relative to overall team strategies -- doesn't apply to when to sit for injuries but does apply to things like baserunning aggressiveness, stealing frequency etc.

if you have a manger that has a high steal frequency slider, that augments an elevated individual strategy for stealing bases. ie middle individual slider for stealing will be relative to overall strat. it will differ in results due to overal strat.

I think I already said that in about 500 less words including capitals and punctuation.

They really should have a global setting for this. It only makes sense. I went looking for it myself when I started.

Basically anyone in the minors, if they are hurt, I want them on their butts until they are better. Having to hunt every day or two for orange guys and then telling the manager to sit them down is just pointless busy work.

I am really surprised the devs haven't put that in.

There should be an option for the AI, which I have seen aggravate small injuries for basically no reason.

i misread his reply about a blanket option. no big deal, buddy (that is a phrase, so there is no punctuation needed.)

if i accidentally repeated something, why would it matter? nitpicking about punctuation and capitaliztion clearly shows that it frustrates you for some reason. i assure you that you were not a thought in my mind as i wrote it.

this isn't a formal writing class. words are symbols, which are inherently meaningless. grammatical rules are arbitrary. fretting over inherently meaningless and arbitrary things is irrational.

it takes all of six seconds to read my post, and it adds some relevant information too. if that is too long to read, then it isn't meant for you(pl.).

don't throw rocks from a glass house. unless you are an english major or minor, my grasp of grammar most likely exceeds yours. there are grammatical errors in every thread that exists on this message board, including some of your posts. that doesn't take away anything from the ideas and concepts those threads attmept to convey to others.

tl;dr? it's no wonder that newspapers are written at a 4th-grade reading level. still under 500 words (another phrase, so no punctuation)

i bet this post takes ~10 seconds to read. holy f%#$, how will anyone make it through without a power nap and a ten minute smoke break?

I haven't noticed any of this. So what you're saying is that regardless of what I change my team's settings to, the other AI teams are risking further injury to their players by playing them through injury? That's crazy!

(Punctuation included free of charge, lol)

i think gm or coach may influnce this? although i don't see any slider in editor.

i'm sure it protects 'better' prospects more than low-potential mil players.

it's a good habit to always set individual player strategies for your MLB batters, anyway. e.g. you can eliminate the guys stealing at a lower % from attempting any SB. i make subtle adjustments for hit and run based on babip-rating, too(babip ratings is unseen, but you can deduce it from the other 2 components of contact).

at the mlb i leave it at 'let manager decide' but in the MiL i set my locked prospects to "at least minimal" when i lock them the first time - i don't typicalyl mess with their other sliders in case it influences development - rather they steal and fail in the MiL et al. i do not worry about the players that can barely make it to AAA.

In my game Bryce Harper (not on my team, but in my division so I see him a lot) got a DtD injury in May. He's basically been injured continuously for the entire season because the (un)AI refuses to bench him, ruining what was until May looking like a career year.

I think some sort of global setting is really needed here, both for human and AI teams. Managers don't do things like this and keep their jobs.
