Mound visits
So, is there anything in the game's coding where a mound visit will "calm a pitcher down" and make him pitch more effectively or is that just to check fatigue levels and/or give a reliever more time to warm up?

I believe, let me rephrase, I LIKE to believe that it does. It seems to me that it does result in a strikeout or double play more often then not. After further research I have found that this question has been asked a lot over the years and a clear answer has never been given. I like to believe that it could either have a positive or negative impact. But whether it is actually coded into the game that way I don't know.

I also get the impression that it settles a pitcher down, based on what I've seen. But just like in real life, there's no way to know for sure, since we never know what would have happened in the alternate universe.

Last year Matt or Lukas or maybe someone else said it had a slight temporary calming effect, or something like that.
