8-for-8 Day for Davies: Getting 8 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Tampa Bay's 7-4 win over Charlotte today, third baseman Brandon Davies was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Charlotte Ballpark.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Davies said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Brandon Davies singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, singled in the 13th and singled in the 14th.
This year Davies is batting .376 with 2 home runs and 12 RBIs. In 36 games he has scored 18 times.
