What determines a player to be a Patient hitter?
I am currently GM of a team with a hitting coach focused on Patience. There is only one player on my team who has a relationship with that coach. I have no idea what it is about this player that makes him Patient. There are other players on my team with equal or higher eye/patience ratings than this hitter. I would like to add players to the team that would be compatible with my hitting coach. So, what determines a player to be a Patient hitter?

How long has he been your coach and how long is his tenure with this group of players?

First year coach. Playing the 2018 season with the Padres. Matt Stairs is the hitting coach on the Padres and I just traded for Josh Bell from the Pirates. Bell is compatible with Stairs.

a patience focus is about teh Eye rating. at least for development of ratings etc... as far as relationships it might be about OBP or the walk rate.. both would make sense as well as teh eye rating itself. may or may not be more inclusive. could test it with comissioner mode on and see what happens.. e.g. reduce eye and if it changes, you know it's the cause.
as far as his relationship with players: focus is part of the equation but not the only thing. the coach's personality will be a big factor that influences his relationships. again to learn, go play around with comissioner mode on with focus and personality and you can see who that influences relationships. also note, it doesn't say "bad" relationship.. it says "worse".. that's a comparitive term. if the developers care about what that means, it's an important distinction. it would only mean it's a higher level, not that it's "bad" for the others. both could be above "bad" potentially due to logic of the word used.
