New League, need GMs USBBL (new Forum and options updated)

www.USBBL.com

I am still doing a bit of work on the website, but it is coming along rather nicely. It will have fantasy players, fantasy teams, emphasis on league history, and for the most part, standard rules for an online league. I am going to try for 16 teams to start, in 2 leagues each with 2 divisions. 162 games. If you join now you have the chance to make your own logo, jerseys, stadium, choose where your team plays and what their name is.

During the season, Anyone can contribute articles and I will post them on the main site if they are worthy, I am going to model my team pages loosely off of USBAs set up as that is about the best out there, but I will include franchise history ( where and what name the teams have been under) also, pictures of the stadiums. This should all be implemented within the next couple of days, but right now I need GMs to fill up the remaining 14 slots.

I will be simming 3 or 4 times a week, each either 7 or 10 games. More information will be on the website soon as I sort through all the details.

Please email me at Stankiem@hotmail.com if you are interested or have any suggestions.

I added a new team today for murrayyyyy@aol.com who also plays in the USBA, but... the team requests are coming in much slower than I expected.. Though I am fairly new here I do participate in the NML and I could provide an excellent league.. Let me know if theres something that you feel is missing in the league and I will try to accomodate you. If theres any questions about the rules or so forth, please goto the MISSION page on www.usbbl.com it explains all of that.. Mike

I will simulate on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday every week in 7 game segments each day. Simulation time will be at 11:30pm CST. In case anyone was wondering about this and was holding them back from joining =P Also, soon I will have an example of the team page up for the St. Louis Archers.

Well, I dont know if this was a thumb in anyones eye, but I had to ask the owner of the "Palatine Pimps", to get a new city, team name, and most importantly logo. He is one of my friends who loves baseball and this game, but is really goofy sometimes.. Anyways, just to show that I am trying to be as professional about this as I can I did have it removed from the site as of now, also I added the Carolina Chancticleers for Murray. I also have a site up for the St. Louis team and I will have another up for Carolina soon.

This sounds interesting. I have a couple of concerns, though:

First, if coaches and scouts are on, is there any way to prevent people from checking out the 'real' stats? I don't know how to do this myself, but I've seen it mentioned often enough to think it might be a problem.

Second, how are you going to be doing the initial draft? I've seen a couple of these and they can get real messy.

Otherwise, though, it looks like a promising league.

Your totally right, I am going to turn off the coaches and scouts, and about the initial draft I tried to explain it as best I can in the constitution, I will post it here as well, hopefully this makes sense..

The way we will complete the drafts goes like this.. For the initial draft, I will get a list of at least 10 players from each GM on each simulation day that the GMs would like to draft and in what order, I will end the draft day when any list runs out of players that are available. Let me clarify that a bit.. Each GM will give me a list of players each real day that the draft is still going on, the list must be at least 10 players long. I will start with the first team on the draft's list and see if his next choice is available, if it is not then I will continue to the next player on his list and so on.. if I reach the end of his list then I will notify all GMs that I need another list. If I do find that player that the GM requested, I will continue to the next GMs list. I will need a list of at least 10 players, but the list can be as long as you want it to be, but remember if you keep the list short you can review who is left and revise your draft order accordingly, so it may be in your advantage to keep the list short. When the year is not the initial or an expansion draft year, I will shorten the minimum list length to 6 players.

Any more questions, feel free to ask, and I will try to accomidate the community as best I can.

You credited the USBA for some of your inspiration...
How did you find out about the USBA? I don't remember hearing from you and would hope to hear from anyone thinking of using parts of the USBA for their own league.

I actually just seen one of your posts, and I love looking at the design of the different leagues, gives me lots of ideas, your site had some AWESOME ideas for the team pages! I also used ideas from the NML and BAB and various others. But I have to admit, your site is by far the best that I have seen. What got me to first look at your site was Murrayyyyy joining and he said he participates in your league.

I just added a forum to the site, so instead of using email for all the transactions, we can now use the forums! Just another reason to join up haha

We need some west coast and south coast teams. I don't want to playing all my playoff games in the cold.
