Ballpark factors?

Is there a way to calculate ballpark factors after a season is simulated?

For example, if I create a fictional park with certain distances and wall heights, could I set all the ballpark factors to 1.000, play the season, and determine the actual ballpark factors?

Ballpark distances and heights are completely cosmetic. If all the factors are set to 1.000 they will give results of totally "average" ballparks.

So, you could set your left field ballpark wall to 100 ft. high, and 700 feet deep, and if your factors are set to 1.000 HR vL and 1.000 HR vR - you'll end up with an average number of home runs in your park . (And yes, if you play them out, people will be jacking 750 foot homers). I keep saying average - I should say "neutral" park settings instead.

So, if my above example park was created, and all the other parks were set to 2.000 - then the example park would produce about 1/2 as many HRs as the rest.

But, if you're just looking to see what changes the factors make - I suppose you could run some test seasons. A handful of seasons with different changes to the parks. But, I think you'd have to play a decent sample size with each setting - as the randomness of each at bat would probably skew the results of small samples.

I think the settings are what they are though .. and over long research - you'd just find that a 1.100 rating would usually be 10% higher than 1.000 rating.

yeah, it's not necessarily "5%" more if it;s 1.050 etc... i think it says this in manual that it isn't necessarily applied in that manner? could be wrong. double check what manual says... if not specifically stated.. it woudl take a huge sample to figure it out with confidence.

op:

chekc mods forums.. there's a field generator -- hosted website i think.. you type in the factors and it produces dimensions for those factors based on current mlb stadiums and factors used in teh game -- i believe or something rational like that.

google found it first link:

heck, it evne outputs files to import.. you dont' even have to type them into game.
