Manually installing Historic Ballparks

OK, cannot give up... winners never quit.

Long-time gamers are suggesting a manual install of historic parks.

My eSellerate version of OOTP19 will not accept the Pstricket ballparks. I'm new to the game so I have no other versions.

Those parks look great.

How can I MANUALLY install?

I'm guessing first I download while in Add-on Central, but where would they download to (maybe my download file?) then how do I import them manually?

If you do it manually, does that mean whatever issues there are with the install from Add-on Central in eSellerate's version will not occur?

Doesn't sound right but I'm anxious to play old time baseball with a realistic look.

Sorry to bother on a Sunday, guys but it's rainy and cold and I have nothing to do.

I would still suggest waiting for reasons I detailed in your last thread until something gets fixed (the mod or OOTP - whichever is causing the issue). The default parks are pretty decent, albeit modern.

But, if you're deadset on getting them in, and want to try a manual installation.

Put the downloaded file in Program files/Out of the Park Developments/OOTP baseball 19/data/ballparks.

This would make them autoload into a newly created game. (Some really old parks are missing).

If you want to not put them in your OOTP file, and just save them anywhere. But you'll have to edit each teams parks individually.
Then in your league go to Edit ballparks
  1. Select a Team, then the bottom of the drop down is Team Settings.
  2. On the top of the far right of your screen is the "Edit Ballparks" button). You may have to be in commissioner mode to do this for the teams you do not control.
  3. Click 3D Model on this screen
  4. On the top right of this screen is "Load New 3D Model". Choose this
  5. Now, just navigate to where you saved the file and select the model you choose.

You may also do this if you want to use the OOTP folders, and edit ballparks in the league you wish to create. As I said, if in that folder, it should auto load them on new leagues, but you may have to manually put them into existing leagues.

This may be where you're having a problem. There should be one more step. You put them in the ....ballpark/models folder. They have to go in the model folder not just the ballpark folder. Also for some reason I have had Silvam/adions parks download with a folder inside a folder i.e. you download the Polo Ground and the folder says Polo Grounds but if you open it there is another "Polo Grounds" folder inside. It is this inner folder that needs to go in the models folder.

Does this work for the eSellerate version of OOTP19... or just the Steam version, which I do not have.

It will work on either. But yes I am currently using the eSellerate version. I have both because beta testing requires steam.

My fault DCG, I did it correctly when I had the mod. For this post, I was going off memory and missed the step. Thanks for helping him get the right info

Thank you fellas for this great thread. I was finally able to get the LA Coliseum (59) to show for my 59 replay. Finally.

The extra tip about the model area made the difference.

Much appreciated. This game plays great!

Well this would explain why I couldn't find my file when I was looking for it in the game. I'd exit the game and the park was sitting right there in the file I left it. Just not in the right place for the game to find it.
