Winning

Okay maybe it's just a small sample size but I cannot seem to generate any offense. In the past few versions I've had this problem but always have played with my beloved Royals. Usually give up after about two real weeks of playing and don't touch OOTP until the following year when the new version comes out. So just bought the new version yesterday and decided to try my luck with the Astros. Ten games in and once again I cannot generate more than one or two runs a game with one of the best offenses in baseball. I'm managing and playing out all my games. I've ran into the same issues with the iOS version. Maybe I just suck at managing. Can anyone help me to jump start my offense?

Definitely a small sample size. Put in some blood, sweat and tears for a while and see if things iron out. I've had dominant teams and disappointing teams throughout the years with OOTP, you get what you put into it. Just because a team won the WS last year isn't a guarantee that they are going to go 10-0 the start of the next. Although the RL Astros are a respectable 9-4 this year...

Even in the best seasons my team has ups and downs. Entire months where I have no pitching, no hitting or both. Playing out every game makes it seem like an eternity. Off years and even rebuilding years can be especially tedious and I will often start simming weeks. I don't like simming but I don't like watching my team look helpless day after day either.

small ball, steal a base when possible, take advantage of right/left matchups.

I've had a lot of success staggering my lineup L-R-L-R-L
