is it possible to set up a modern league with 1 historical team?

Probably a dumb question... but say I wanted to see how the 1927 NY Yankees would do with the current MLB teams how would I replace the current Yankee team with the 1927 Roster... or is it possible?

Well one way is to add the historical 27 players of the Yankees and add them one by one to free agents under commish mode. Then whichever team your putting them on say the 2018 padres. You can edit the players one by one and put them on Padres. Make sense?

No. Start a standard 2018 game. When the game is made put yourself in commish mode. Go to free agents list. Top right there is a pull down tab and a choice is import historical free agents. You will need the code for the player from the baseball reference site. So say you were importing babe Ruth you would use his baseball ref code and choose the year in his career you want him imported (1927) and then boom there he is. If you want him on a specific team you would click on him. Click on editor and then you can choose what team he is on. Do the same for Gehrig, lazzeri, etc.

still haven't found the data base... but I did find a way to add players - I just need to take there last name and shorten it and add a couple of letters from their first name and add 01. Takes a little finagling but I have assembled an all star team. getting there, and learning. so thanks again.

Start a Standard Game , Make sure you are in comish mode.

Go to Game / Game Settings / League Settings

Edit league Structure Remove the NY Yankees (Note all current Yankee Players will become Free Agents, It may be best to delete their players before removing the actual team)


Click Add Historical team
Highlight Historical Database.odb - comfirm
Change Season year to 1927 and refresh team list

select the 1927 yankees

A few notes: The 1927 Yankees will only import with 25 players of which 10 will be pitchers.

They will not have Minor league teams associated to them, You can re-associate all Yankee Farm teams back to the 1927 version

You will likely need to regenerate a schedule

It may take a little work to get it set up, But it can be done. Any other questions feel free to ask, Hope this helps!
