Not following my pitching staff
Just starting my first solo league. I have all the settings set for me the human to set everything. I have a 5-man pitching staff set to strict order. 7-day lineups are off. I like to sim by doing quickplay for each game then making any changes between games. I cannot get this game to follow my pitching staff. I put it on the number one pitcher, I go into the Scores pull down to run the sim and it shows that pitcher is sched to pitch, run quick play and the number 2 makes the start. OK, switch the number 1 to number 2 and try again. Same thing, it shows he should pitch, quickplay and the number three starts. With my next start it showed the right guy sched to pitch and randomly chose a guy out of the bullpen to pitch. The only way I can get the guy I want to pitch, pitch is to actually start the game and put him in there then sim the whole game. This adds unnecessary time to my simming. What the heck is going on here?

Check the settings on the Manger Options screen. One or more of the settings are not under your control, I.E., with your in game name listed. It probably says it is being done by the bench coach if you are GM/Manager or by the manager if you are GM only.

On the team pitching staff page make sure the usage is set to "strict order"

Figured it out. It's a historic league and apparently in the league settings there is now a setting to allow historic transactions which enables historic game lineups. Didn't come up as something to adjust when I created the league and this is something definitely new to v19.
