External Beta Patch Testing - Volunteers Wanted!

Hi all,

We're looking for a few good men (and women).

We need some help giving the patches a good testing before we release them. Since the regular beta team slows down a bit after we release the game, we'd like to create a supplemental external beta testing team of folks who would be willing to help with testing the patches as they come out.

Unfortunately we can't offer free games for this and you'd have to have the game on Steam in order to participate. What you would get is early access to the patches and the opportunity to be sure that any bug reports and issues you find are seen by the OOTP team. You'd also have the satisfaction of helping our small team out and helping make the game better for everyone.

Plus, we'll be keeping a very close eye on how things go in testing and anyone who proves useful and active will get a leg up on being invited to the full beta testing team next year, where you get a free copy of the game and access a couple months before the official release.

So if you love OOTP and would like to help out, please let us know. Just post in this thread, and sometime next week I'll get in touch with anyone who responds and we'll go from there.

Basically just giving us some feedback on issues you find with the game, particularly with an emphasis on testing any changes that were specifically implemented for that patch (we'll give you a list of these) and making sure they actually took correctly.

No specific time requirement or anything, just do what you can if you have the time to do it

The testing will benefit the Origin customers as well as the standalone customers as the changes will apply to their games as well, but the specific testing process will only be done on Steam since that greatly simplifies the process of making up test builds for us, and saves us a ton of time.

I have Steam and would be happy to help, I have beta tested other games such as Football Manager before, so believe I know what's required. I'm off work until June so have plenty of time too.

Happy to help. OOTP player since v4 and was an OOTP beta tester (roster team) 10 years ago. Actually maybe more at this point.
