- SP Rob Zastryzny is out Day-to-day with forearm soreness.

Hunter Renfroe showed signs of life last night by belting a Home Run. However he also went 1-5 and in Friday night's game he struck out four times. There is real struggle there and we're hoping the Home Run ignites his self confidence a little. Unfortunately the rest of his line didn't do much to convince him otherwise.

Girardi gave Renfroe the night off, let him live up the fact that he homered in his last game just another day. Hoping to build confidence in him, we'll see. Another loss for us at home, but our attendance continues to remain good.

- Sent Left Fielder Jeremy Hazelbaker to Triple-A Reedley. Hazelbaker was batting .105 in MLB

- We dropped from #3 to #23 in the Power Rankings this week. Still early to the season the drop will be more significant, but losing 5 of our last ball games doesn't help either.

- Giancarlo Stanton picked up American League Player of the Week Award hitting .348

- Jesse Winker picked up National League Player of the Week Award hitting .476 with 3 Home Runs and 10 RBI.

- Victor Martinez has informed the Detroit Tigers that he is going to retire from the game of baseball.

- Boston has announced that they have signed RP Kevin Chapman to a 1.7 Million dollar contract.

Joe Girardi was frustrated at his team's play today during the press conference. Losing six-straight after coming from the New York Yankees will do that to anyone. When asked about Renfroe, he was happy he and Segedin came through with 2 hits each tonight, but it wasn't enough.
