Am I doing something wrong - all my minor leagues are AWFUL

Hello all,

OOTP 19 is the 4th version of the game I've owned, and I consider myself somewhat versed in how the game operates. However, I'm now 1/2 way into the 2019 season and what I'm seeing doesn't make any sense.

I'm playing as the Tigers, so admittedly not a lot of talent to begin with. But after making some trades and going through a draft - not to mention the existing players like Faedo, Perez, Burrows, etc - I would expect to make some progress.

Instead, every single one of my minor league teams - and all of their players - are just awful. At the beginning of the game Faedo was rated the #22 overall prospect. One year later, he has a 7.56 ERA in Double A. Literally all 4 of my minor league teams - AAA, AA, and both A teams - are dead last in their leagues in ERA. Hitting isn't much better.

It's a bit frustrating to be in a rebuild situation and see every single player that was once a 3, 4 or 5 star prospect drop to a 1 star. I'm not sure if there is some setting for this or something I'm not doing?

check baselines of those leagues via the estimated slash in Stats and AI settings page...

then look at the end of year stats for that league... are they anywhere near the baseline or are they bloated? if bloated, they may not be as bad as you think. defaults are much higher offense than the mlb in a few mil tiers.. AAA for sure, i don't know by rote which others.. think short a is another high-offesne league?

so, once you eliminate that it's not normal or it is normal, you can adjust it or move on to the next possible culprit..

just random bad luck... are their ratings increasing? because, that is all that matters. Those mil stats don't add up to any records of meaning. those stats are essentially cast out in the trash once they hit the MLB -- ie meaningless, so don't worry about a poor mil career #'s.

how well you rmil teams do is more about the "filler" in the mil... guys that are ~1/2 scale at best and not likely to be an mlb regular, let alone reach the MLB... half will likely retire by A/AA-ball etc... but those guys are the ones that have the strongest influence on MiL wins/losses and not your "best" prospects.

they are too few, and hopefully you are promoting them at a more rapid pace than the average MiL players. tied to devlopement of course... let the others simmer and help create a winning environment. e.g. i never promote a "filler" player midway through year.. they stay at that level for the entirity unless my hand is forced by injuries or something liek that.

only future mlb players get that type of attention throughout a year and will get a promotion the moment their ratings are good enough for the next step (excludes call up to mlb, of course - quite a few more things to consider)

if i recall, Manning depends on a third, lower current abilty pitch to develop. burrows should be on his way... assume it's a scouting inaccuracy or if 'real' a TCR related even that reduced him. stick with him till you knwo for sure.

i never have seen fraedo, so no idea on him.

i don't think any of the batters that detroit got are anything to write home about... stewart is probably your best offensive player of the future. they have a weak system, but should have ~5 SP that are useable, tradeable, worthwhile to pay attention to. maybe 1-2 batters? maybe a defensive wiz or future utility at best etc on the offensive side of the ball... their mil is poop, but their are som assets of note... you can quickly turn it around the mlb in ~3 years with some luck in drafting.

trade any stopgap FA signings for prospects before tehir contract ends or take a compensation pick if that's going to be a better return. use them for a year or two and try to ge tassets for them.. sign another stopgap to a decent contract etc, rinse repeat, and this will supplement drafting. can add ~10-12+ quality mil prosepcts in 3 years easily... plus whatever you had before, if still in mil. now you have a good mil system and assets to trade for hof/asg guys if needed.
