Fictional League
Ok so here is what I have planned. Going to start a fictional league in 1871 and slowly sim and add leagues and expand the main league until I get to sometime in the 2000's and then take over a team. I like to build a world and see how it develops. The question I have is I dont have to be historically accurate stats wise but I do want to have a deadball era and then slowly progress from there, should I be checking the adjust totals every year to get that or if I leave it unchecked will I still see the same thing or close to it? Trevor L.

Adjusting totals every year works well for stats, but I had problems with the finances not seeming to update right while doing my 100-year sim-for-history of the Federal Baseball League, my 2x3x6 fictional.
I stopped every ten years and re-imported them, still leaving the things checked. Still had every team in the league going broke until the 60s... By the time I'm ready to take over the team who drafts "me", everything is fine.

I have done what you are doing many times and I haven't had any issues with stats or financials as long as the right check boxes are checked.
I always the below options checked. Automatically adjust League Strategy Import adjusted financial settings after each year Automatically adjust league totals modifiers after each season for accuracy Automatically import historical player-creation modifiers I will say that I don't look at these things every year, especially finances. If the stats look good for the year, then I move on to the next. I think if there were any issues with this stuff, it would have been found and fixed a long time ago. Just IMO. Good luck!

With 19, I am moving away from trying to create a fictional history of MLB with stats, etc. I just did a 200 year sim using 1976 stats & finances for the whole thing and I liked the way it turned out. I only had one 60 HR season, one 700 HR career and it wasn't even the same guy. That league was a 'just to see what happens' league and I think I like the results. I am going to do the same thing but start in 1876 and grow into MLB. Good luck. I'm interested to see how your league turns out. |

I nurse the sim along. Stop and check how things are going. Yes I make sure stadium sizes stay up to date. Trust me, took me a few run throughs to remember to do that :-).I started my long term sim. Started in 1871 with 8 teams and so far so good. Thanks for the replys, if anyone has any other tips feel free to send them out. Will keep everyone up to date if they want. Trevor L.
