Does anyone like to play leagues with different teams from different years?

I have found this to be one of my favorite things to do. This goes back to my days of playing Strat and Statis Pro Baseball when I was a kid.

I've done a few Olympic style tournaments already with past World Series champs.

I will take historical players and play them in modern custom leagues.
One problem is having 2 Pete Rose's playing in the same league.

Yup you have to make the tough choices and delete 'em from one

This is one of my favorite things to do. I have a question for you--have you figured out a way to to get players that joined the team later in the year in this mode? In the past, I feel like when you loaded a team into a custom season, all of the players from that year would be on the team, but this year it seems to be only the opening day roster. This is frustrating because many teams that were important to the team (ie Verlander on this year's Astros) didn't join the team until later in the season. Have you experienced this?

I have not played yet as I am setting up my season. The first season I play will be teams from 1871-1875, 18 teams, each division will have 9 teams. In any case, I can see if I can get your question answered for you.

Out of the Park Baseball replied, have you tried using the historical transactions option to see if that works?

I can check that when I get home tonight....I did not realize that historical transactions were an option in custom seasons. I thought they were only for historical seasons. I can definitely take a look though. Thanks for the advice!

I only play either straight up historical seasons or I mix great teams to create "best of" great teams. With OOTP's new Tournament mode, playing these great teams is really a blast.

Hello---there doesn't seem to be an option for historical transactions in a custom league with historical teams, so I'm still stuck with only the players that were on the team at the beginning of the year. (So, for example, no Verlander on last year's Astros). Does anybody have any further suggestions?

Thanks again.
