I agree! I've simmed a couple seasons and one time the game paused because a player wanted me to donate to a charity and another time a player was fighting with teammates and I had to either suspend him, waive him, or do nothing.
That's an extra bit of immersion that I love.

I'm astonish by the 19 version just I'm not sure about two, negligible, graphic choices :
One is the "oblique" skin style.
Others is the "metallic" rating stars -

Cheers

p.s: replaced "trascurabile" by negligible

I could add that as an option, good idea!

I prefer the way it is, and so does our lead designer. It's a matter of taste

Unfortunately, this game is spectacular and I will likely burn more hours than I anticipated playing the seasons out. Very much like the updated stadiums The AI still does make some curious acceptances to trade but its making my 2018 "future" play more interesting.

That's the thing. When something is a matter of aesthetics, like oblique vs. rectangular styling, we've got to go with their judgment. They cannot be expected to change something unless it has been pointed out to be an oversight or there are many people complaining about it.

As it is, most people seem to be content with the current skins and the choice of fonts in OOTPB 19. I am rather particular myself in this regard and it has my seal of approval.

This is not meant to squelch you, macgufo. More of sympathy and support in that you are probably not going to be happy knowing that the things that you do not like are unlikely to be changed.

By the way, what is the word "trascurabile" mean? [Edit: After I typed that question, I thought of the Google Translate, Detect Language feature. It's Italian and it means "negligible" in English. I always enjoy learning new words! ]

My second bite at the first impression thread since I've only just begun to actually play v19 (had to finish playoffs in my last v18 game before importing).

I'm in the off season just getting to the rule 5 draft. Transactions have been tightened up to a much more realistic level. There have been a number of trades over my whole league and as I look them over I think to myself "that makes perfect sense".

I've got arms in the minors ready to make the jump to the show but my staff is loaded. Looking to trade for a 3b prospect to replace my all-star 3b in a couple of years. Find the 39th overall rated prospect with Miami and offer a 24 yr old SP (40\55 on the 20\80 scale by 5's) with only 30 days of mlb service that would slip right into their rotation, and since they have need for an IF add a middling kind of guy (40\40) to sweeten the pot. Not enough they say. I'm on average\neutral settings and wonder if things are tightened up too much?

I move onto the crosstown White Sox and approach them about their top 3b prospect 20\55, 24th overall, a nice upgrade over who I tried to get from Miami. I offer the same package 24 yr SP 40\55 and 30 yr 40\40 2b(who may start for them too). Their short on cash so $700k included from me evens their budget and they take the deal with a smile. This alone is very cool to see IE a different team and GM placing an entirely different value to the transaction but wait, there's more.

I sent them $700k as they were short on cash but.. the next day they sign two high priced FA. They were short on cash because they had offers out and their money earmarked for those deals. Took advantage of me, the shysters All good though as I got what I wanted and so did they. The trade made perfect sense for both clubs and the best thing is I think it highlights how differently individual GMs now act. Miami had just as much need as the White Sox for this deal and yet they turned it down while the WS jumped on it quickly with an even better player.

I've also been offered 5 or 6 trades and only one of those was the "yeah, get out of here with that stuff" garbage. The rest have been very good value offers that could be seen as a win\win for both clubs. The one I took Colorado offered a 25 yr old 7-7-5-4-7 50\60 1b to me as they are loaded at 1b. They wanted my lights out 70\70 setup guy and a SP prospect 22yrs 20\55. I countered with a MLB starter 26yrs 50\50 and a C prospect 22 20\50 and they took the deal. The sp fills the 3 or 4 spot immediately and they now have a C on the rise in a minor league system that had no C prospect with a real chance of making the show.

Right now a very small sample size in my firs off season, I know, but FA signings and trades I'm seeing sure seem to be showing much improved AI transactions across the board.

Game gets better and better year after year

I've played for about three weeks of game time. I just downloaded it yesterday. All I can say so far is that it's aesthetically beautiful, and I love the new in-game substitution screen. It's nice to be able to see my opponents' roster next to mine.

2. Holy Randall Grichuk! That's all I'll say on that.
I'm just 11 games into the Jays' season and Randall Grichuk appears to be a living god! Also, Pillar has a waaay better arm in OOTP 19 than in, say, Strat-O.

And the rest of the Jays seem to be getting away with have corked bats...

My deepest thanks go to the OOTP team and to Mark Shapiro.

Other than very few single malt scotchs, NOTHING I have encountered in this world gives better value for the dollar -- even Canadian dollars -- than OOTP!

Frankly, at this point I am not sure what they can do to make it better.

I've simmed a couple years and never seen this. Is this part of Storylines?

Not quite a bug, just very strange AI.

The Indians took Billy McKinney in the Rule 5 draft. In 85 games, he hit .284/.367/.450 with 11 homers and 50 RBI. On literally the same day he won the AL Rookie of the Month award, the Indians released him and sent him back to the Yankees. To make matters weirder, the Indians ended up winning the World Series and McKinney's history reads "Wins the 2020 World Series with the New York Yankees".

Just a couple of Qs.
Did I read somewhere that now you can get the pitcher warming up in the bullpen to sit down if he starts to get tired.
If so finally the bullpen coach have stopped reading the comic pages and monitor his job ;-)

However no improvement in the manager department for historical feeling. I barked about this sometime and think that playing historical with coaches doesn't really keep up with the rest of the game.

My problem is that ONLY the present real life managers for those teams starting are in the game.
Like in the future you start this year and lets say Joe Girardi sat out the year without managing any team he will be lost and not in the free managers for you to sign if playing as a GM.
Instead the free coaches/managers have all kinds of strange nationality. I have hard to see Asian managers getting hired in MLB during the 60-70-80's, but there is a lot of them in the game.
Similar starting in 1997 will miss Buck Showalter.
These managers are in some DB since they pop up with correct win-loss and years managing so they should be able to at least be imported by hand.
This last stuff having manager imported would perhaps solve any issue like this. Later on in your game you can import newly hired "rookie"managers to make your game much more realistic IMHO.

Is it me or are there different player models?

I swear Dominic Smith (the chubby version) looks different than Amed Rosario in this game.

It's not a feasible way to do things, but I think if you let the community vote... you and the lead designer would lose... and by a big margin.

No, not just you. The size/weight of the players definitely factors into how big the player models are. I was using Oakland and 250-lb catcher Bruce Maxwell (born in Germany!) was noticeably "thicker" than his teammates.
