Pitch count display
I mentioned this last year and I guess this will be my little thing for as long as it takes....
For those playing out the games and using bullpen warmup it would be a great help to have my pitcher's pitch count displayed even when my team is at bat. For various reasons. Sometimes as you're simming through you may not notice the count as the inning ends. Then you see your starter is up soon and you might want to pinch hit if his count is getting up there. My suggestion is putting it just to the left of the "P" in the line-up. Another is to at least show it in his box somewhere when he's the hitter. A minor detail but saves clicking around. |

Would love to see PC displayed somewhere while batting. I just checked my starter to see if i want to bring him out for the 7th with a 3 run lead but he is only at 83 pitches. I just thought about the same thing you suggested before i pulled this thread up.

Simply don't forget to look at your pitch count before the 1/2 inning ends.
i do it too, but i don't blame the UI for my lapse of attention.form better habits and it's 100% avoidable. ie a self-inflicted problem. this rationalization could be used for anythign you forgot to take note of from previous 1/2 inning -- batting or pitching etc. the screen generally needs less stuff, not more clutter. an alternative to a specific suggestion: ask them to open up the ui-files for us to customize. it's just XML stuff -- any markup language is a joke to learn. users could make their own - any shape / transparency / font size or even font type etc etc etc. make it all moveable and adjustable and you can do anything you want with it. then, share it all on the mods forum. a simple list of variables used and that's all they'd need. i'm sue there's plenty in this user base taht would love to work with this stuff and make it their own. this is very common for a ton of online games. it doesn't provide a wy to abuse anything. merely about asthetics. personally i'd prefer a transparent HUD and a more zoomed in field. ~30rows of spectators isn't needed to be seen. that's only maximiazed in such large portions to provide a space for the current display which is huge, cumbersome and blocks large portions of the screen already... it's analagous to those senior-citizen phones with huge buttons in its current state. |

It's not necessarily a "lapse of attention." If you are in one-pitch mode and the half-inning ends with a two-strike count, you do not know how many pitches were thrown to the last batter. Could be 3 (0-2 and pitch 3 is the out), or could be 10 if there are a lot of foul balls. The only way to know is to go to your pitcher's page and check today's pitches. Seems possible to put the PC next to his name in the boxscore or something like that. Would save needless clicking

I realize that if I click to another screen or the box score I can get the pitch count. That's not in question.
What I'm asking for is information on the screen so that I don't have to go look for it. I have the other team's line-up, I know whose coming to bat next for each team, I know who is warming up and their status. What I'd like to know while my team is batting is what my pitcher's count is so that I can determine IF I need to do something. There's space for it without cluttering the screen. |

you can have whatever info you want wherever you want it and at any size. |
