Real minor leagues but not the players?

One thing I like to do is run a 'Fictorical' league where I create a historical league starting in 1871 but turn off the import of historical rookies.

If I have 'Import & maintain real minor leagues' checked, will I get the teams but not the players? Will I get both?

Is the 'Automatically import historical rookies' only for major league players?

Minor leagues will be coming in around 1915.

I don't know yet, I'm in 1873.
