is it possible to change colors within skins?

don't really care for the dark brown in classic, liked 18's shade.

First off, I second everything that everyone has said about how game changing these animations are. I knew there'd be some sort of player-shaped sprites and all, but that you can re-size them; that they actually animate in a pretty realistic way with surprisingly deep variety (jumping catch at the wall anyone? ball shadow? are you serious?); and that they do all this without destroying my wimpy 8 GB Ram/5500U processor is so great. This is coming from someone who was never interested in managing the games before. Now, I am managing them all. And loving it.

I have also been keeping track of some of the wonkier animations as feedback so the devs can possibly tweak for future builds...here's what I have so far:

1. Was playing at Oakland Coliseum and Justin Upton of the Angels (who absolutely torched me in this series...) hit a homer that started out foul down the 3B line and did a reverse backspin thing where it sliced fair!! I have heard of righty batters hooking balls down the LF line foul, but the reverse seemed to violate the laws of physics, entropy, and Hammurabi's Code. A foul ball for a foul ball. Usually the slicing will only happen if the ball's hit the other way.

2. I have seen several plays on hits down the line where the OF basically remains stationary, then kicks it up to warp factor 6 to chase the ball. I'm not sure if that's by design to allow extra base hits to work better, but it could probably be smoother.

3. I have seen a couple of plays on deep fly balls (all this was at the Coliseum by the way) where the CF goes back on it, seems to get enough depth, turns around, and lets the ball drop right in front of him. lol. In one instance, I saw my fielder disappear behind the LCF fence.

4. On one of those plays where a grounder is fielded by the 1B and flips to the pitcher covering--it was really strangely slow. So slow, in fact, that what appeared like a sure out was actually safe. That might have been by design to symbolize a difficult play or toss, but thought it worth mentioning just in case.

5. With the pitcher animations, I've now seen a good deal of "multi-windups" where it seems like he rocks back and forth 2, 3, or even 4 times before delivering.

6. I have seen a few plays also where it looks like the ball has for sure landed in play by some distance to be caught only for the pbp to tell me it went into the stands foul and out of play. Again, usually it's on a play deep down the LF or RF line.

-----------------------------------------------

In addition to the better-than-anticipated animations and 3D graphics, the game is the usual great quality game with the intense amount of depth and features we've all grown to take for granted. That you guys make a beta (technically) run this smooth when some other dev studios that shall remain nameless ship a rough draft and need half the summer to iron out bugs is truly commendable. I hope you guys realize how much we love how clean this game is at launch and that we love how much you guys care about making it that way.

A couple of more comments then I'll stop gushing like a schoolgirl...

1. I really like the "retain salary" feature when trading. I know it's not "new" but I remember when you were kinda stuck if the team you were dealing with had no "cash on hand." Really neat little feature when trading. And I like how that "R" shows up on the salary summary screen for players who are being paid in this manner.

2. When managing/playing the games I feel that the ability to go pitch by pitch would be a little more enticing if you could "pitch to location/quadrant" and/or "pitch with specific type of pitch." That might be overkill in terms of all the hotkeys you'd need to assign before each pitch but perhaps something worth considering.

Thank you for this game!

I'm at the trade deadline in my second year and no pitching prospects have potential above 3 stars, both according to my scout and the OOTP scouting agency. Is this the new normal?

Also, I have to add that getting to cast a ballot on the end of season awards is a fantastic addition and maybe my favorite as a whole this year. An unbelievably immersive game somehow managed to make itself even more immersive. Awesome job.

Love, love, love, love this feature. It leads to many more than three MVP guys. Awesome stuff.

Best version yet; fantastic job Markus and team.

As others have said I love the new award ballots, but is there a way to look back in history at vote tallies, or is that information only stored in the newspaper articles?

No, at the moment the voting is not stored. We can think about adding that in the future

OOTP 18 was my first foray into this game. I had been a Baseball Mogul guy before then. I was so impressed by 18 that I quickly purchased 19 and have been enjoying the heck out of the Beta. Never going back to BM! You have a great game here.

Just wanted to report, I've played a couple of historical exhibitions and...

Still no freezes or crashes!!

I have yet to really put it though its paces (haven't had time) But so far so good! Graphics, 3D, widgets are working well! There are a couple of interface tweaks I might suggest, but I'll do that later. The most important thing: it has been rock solid on a PC and Win7!

Good news, I guess. Right?

Very Impressed

For now I'm still using my preorder version, no bugs so far that bother me!
I'm in the year 2025 and I'm very impressed with the realistic statistics. (The SP innings could be a bit higher). The hitting stats are spot on realistic, very nice. No crashers, smooth sim, thanks!

When those 3D animations get perfected and the library of sequences enlarged that will open up a whole new market of players to this game. Mark my words.

Game. Changer.
Great job, like every year. But this year? Wow.

Keep adding to the animations all year and this game will be Iowa.

: )

Thanks!

Played one game so far, working on number 2. One quick change request - can you make the on-field Large Player Labels smaller? I want to see the ratings and I am not using the player pictures, but the labels still use a large portion of the field.

Must do for guys playing out games:
Add 1st base and 3rd base camera angles zoomed in enough but not too much, you will see batted balls slicing on their path to the OF FANTASTIC. !!!

How do you resize the players on the field?

I'm watching instead of simming the majority of my games due to the amazing changes to 3D mode. So good!

One small suggestion. I have it set to not pause between plays. Can you speed up the players who strikeout? They currently take a long slow walk to the dugout. It would speed things up a little if they jogged to the dugout.

You know a game is great when small "issues" like this annoy you.

Beautiful Results

I've actually had 2 popups to the catcher in same game.
I mean....ball is popped up....pitcher comes in....catcher calls him off (I swear I heard him) and catches the ball. 1st time ever!!!!. Infield popups. I just can't gloat enough about 19. This version will go down in OOTP history as the best release ever.
Thank Heroes At OOTP Development

I LOVE IT!

The ingame play is by far the best part of this year's game. The 3D animation looks great in my opinion, and is a huge improvement over the pips. I had to change some of the displays, like I took off player pictures, for example, but all appears to be working well.

For the first time in three years the GM personalities are set on release THANK YOU!!! I love that.. makes trading etc more interesting.

Its a little thing, but the heading on batting and pitching splits is now locked so you know what column you're looking at. Faaaaantastic.

The downsides for me:

1. I would have liked some more work on the player morale system with something developed to help improve player morale (team/player meetings or something similar)
2. Having a way to export/import views would be great. It'd be nice to share a sabermetric view etc. I've spent a lot of time building these, which is fun, but still... Also, I dont THINK you can do this, but being able to move columns around would be nice so you could group stats as the user sees fit. Again, this might be there, but I havent actually tried it yet.

All in all, GREAT job, yet again. This is a big improvement over the last couple of years if you ask me.
