Can I undo my big mistake??

So if seen any of my other posts I'm brand new to game. I'm starting out by trying the promotions game mode as I get my feet wet. So anyways I've spent hours setting up league exactly how I wanted to customize it and was finally ready to start playing. I fell in love with a free agent and was going to sign him but out of curiousity I wanted to see season predictions with and without him on my team. Since they're is no history in promotions league I had no idea where I stood talent wise with the other 23 teams. So I hurried and simmed spring training to see preseason predictions and completely forgot about autosave so now of course that free agent and all other decent ones are already signed. Anyway to change back the clock before I simmed spring training? Like change current date or something to before spring training or am I stuck with the cards I was dealt? (I realize I could probably force trade him to me on commish mode but don't want to wreck that teams chances as signing free agent they need). Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, no. The only way you could have done it is the "backup" function. Next time make a backup of your game before you try anything drastic. Then you can restore from backup when you mess up

I one time accidentally hit the button to randomize names and nationalities and changed every single player in my fictional league. I lost a season and a half of my league because I had forgotten to back up for awhile

Speaking of which, I haven't backed up since I brought my game to OOTP19. I better go do that now....

There is an autosave function that backs up your league. Worth checking that out in cases like this. Sometimes you'll lose some games that have already been played between when the autosave happened and where you are now depending on how frequently you have the autosave set to happen but it's still better than nothing.

To restore from the automatic backup, do the following:

1) Open the game and on the start screen, click on Settings (or Preferences in OOTP 11-14).

2) Now click on the tab "Troubleshooting".

3) Click "Open folder containing saved games".

4) Now open up the league folder you're wanting to restore.

5) Then select all of the .dat files in the folder and back them up (just in case) by copying them to a temporary folder or creating a zipped file with them

6) Open the folder called "auto-save".

7) In there, select all of the ".dat" files and copy them to the league folder (the parent of the current folder) overwriting all of the ".dat" files in the league folder.

Thanks both, I appreciate it I'll try to see if can load up one of prior auto saves. If not I'll tough it out with the team I inherited, would probably be a bit more fun/challenging that way anyways

This is who you allowed me to go back and get! I haven't played before so don't know how ratings work but I'm guessing he's going to be a beast in bottom level of my promotion league!

Wow he looks good. How'd you get the 20-80 overall/pot vs stars?
