Anyone have a link to Winter League roster rules?
Trying to find the roster rules for the Caribbean Winter leagues. Puerto Rican, Venezuelan, Domican, Mexican, Cuban. Anyone have a link? or is the fact that I can't easily find it on the MLB.com site mean there really are no rules?

If you go to https://www.lvbp.com/ and go to league, winter league agreement the Venezuelan league has a full outline of the rules. Not sure about any of the other leagues, but you could check their websites.

Appreciate it!
I was able to pick out roster limits (30) but haven't yet found limits on "non-native" players. Will keep digging. Direct link to the rules: https://www.lvbp.com/download.php?f=..._agreement.pdf

there are some nice search engines that are designed to aid in finding such information.
https://www.google.ca/search?client=....0.RWDaAsq-GPg that'll get you started. |

I know at some point within the last couple of years, this discussion came up. I would suggest looking up my started thread history as it may have what you are looking for.
I would love to look for you but I'm busy at work today. If you haven't responded by my lunch time, I'll look myself for you

One roster rule I stumbled across by looking at player transaction records was the Frontier League's disabled list rules. The league has three disabled lists: a 7-day DL, a 14-day DL, and a 60-day DL. It has had these three going back several years. |

arizona fall league:
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/events/winter...id=player_elig Australian baseball league http://web.theabl.com.au/content/pag...5&vkey=league3 honestly, it looks like they take anyone with a heartbeat after the "australian professionals as a priority" concept. some deals with that regions pro ball leagues etc. Caribbean series - just a tournament https://www.nytimes.com/1989/02/09/s...caribbean.html -explains who qualifies and some other tid bits of the tournament. Dominican winter league mexican pacific league puerto rican leauge venezualan winter league well, i read someone has 7 years of winter ball under their belt from one article, so they don't follow summer rules. i don't thinke these restrict years or age at all.. this is their local "major league" it all leads to the tournament. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/mlb-re...020228519.html -says stuff about restrictions of ip/AB of mlb prospects that participate. ***only searched caribbean series and dominican winter league - you can search the others to confirm the rest. i'm happy with proof of concept shown. tidbit from rules while searching... pasted quote with snip: "13. An MLB club can automatically renew a minor league player's contract no more than six times, so a club can unilaterally control a minor league player <SNIP/CUT junk> Also, participation in a post-season instructional league, the Arizona Fall League, and/or international winter league(s) do not count toward a minor league season." obviously they are just in that "same" year so you don't double up by sending them to winter leagues on pro svc years. didn't use anythign but "<league name> roster rules" .. clicked a few links that didn't help, and some that did.. read some articles that also filled in some information. stuff anyone should be capable of doing. you don't even have to read, you can ctrl-F and search for key words on the sites too. "roster" "player" etc that you know have to be in a sentence referring to "rule"s and such. don't search for plurals! or shorten word if conjugates to different letters after that point etc. Last edited by NoOne; 03-14-2018 at 09:30 PM. Is the Australian Baseball League considered a winter league, or an international one?
