As you may remember this game started in 2007 with original MLB rosters. Since then we saw the salary cup introduced, three round of expansions which lead to six division with six teams each.

I was curious - after taking some gaming break - which teams did best so far:

Team - made Playoffs - won World Series

Arizona - 4 - 0
Atlanta - 3 - 0
Baltimore - 0 - 0
Boise - 0 - 0 (2010 expansion team)
Boston - 4 - 1
Buffalo - 0 - 0 (2008 expansion team)
Charlotte - 0 - 0 (2010 expansion team)
White Sox - 1 - 0
Cubs - 1 - 0
Cincinnati - 0 - 0
Cleveland - 1 - 0
Colorado - 0 - 0
Detroit - 0 - 0
Florida - 2 - 0
Houston - 0 - 0
Indianapolis - 0 - 0 (2012 expansion team)
Kansas City - 2 - 1
Angels - 5 - 0
Dodgers - 2 - 0
Milwaukee 6 - 2
Minnesota 2 - 1
Yankees 1 - 0
Mets 2 - 0
Oakland 1 - 0
Philadelphia 2 - 0
Pittsburgh 0 - 0
San Diego 2 - 0
San Francisco 0 - 0
Seattle 1 - 1
St. Louis 0 - 0
Tampa Bay 4 - 0
Texas 1 - 0
Toronto 0 - 0
Vancouver (2008 expansion team)
Washington 1 - 0
Winnipeg 0 - 0 (2012 expansion team)

vs
CF Steve Belcher - C Ramon Hernandez - LF Matt Kemp - 3B Andy LaRoche - SS Chad Spann - RF Gerald Boe - 2B Josh Bell - 1B Justin Huber

Winnipeg - Los Angeles N: 4-6 (10)

W: K. Fujikawa (3-4); L: J. Duchscherer (2-4)
HR: W. Pujols (16), J. Werth (13) / T. Abreu (2 - walk off)
SB: - / G. Boe (41), S. Belcher 2 (35)
PoG: W. Pujols - 1/4, HR, 2 RBI
Time: 3:18

Even if we had chances to win this one, it was not a very well played game. Morris struggled and we couldn't take advantage of a struggling Ojeda either.

Attendance: 44552

Miller could hardly throw strikes and the Dodgers catcher couldn't throw a David Ortiz style baserunner out, but once again Baker's tendancy to give up homeruns killed us. He has given up 26 in only 20 starts.

Elsewhere:

The Reds gave their ace and potential free agent Luke Hochevar (10-8, 3.57 ERA a new four deal worth $43,370,000.

Astros closer Taiyo Fujita (3-3-21, 3.59 ERA) is out for five weeks with a damaged meniscus.

Boise LF Adam Dunn (.251, 21 HR, 64 RBI) will miss up to three weeks with a blurred vision.

Trades:

Seattle sent 2B Ian Kinsler (.234, 9 HR, 47 RBI) and minor league 3B Paul Houston (.235, 1 HR, 9 RBI - Lower A) to Baltimore for reliever Yataro Sakamoto (0-2-2, 1.29 ERA).

The Padres dealt veteran RF Juan Rivera (.307, 7 HR, 30 RBI) and minor league closer John Clay (2-2-15, 4.13 ERA) to the Reds for starting pitcher Kris Johnson (10-11, 3.72 ERA).

The Brewers sent relieverBryce Cox (1-3-5, 5.59 ERA) to Boise for LF Jason Denham (.309, 10 HR, 43 RBI) and minor league SS Manuel Santos (.248, 4 HR, 24 RBI). Even if Cox is a good reliever (normally) this is a steal for the Brewers!

1st August 2013

July Review:

Bisons went 11-15 for an overall 58-46 record, which means losing the division lead. St. Louis leads the divison, we are back two games while all other four teams have still a chance to win the division.

Other division leaders:
New York Yankees (54-50) [1 game ahead of Baltimore]

Ugly 8th inning where Armstrong pitched us into a mess and Kubota couldn't retire the inherited runners. Both lefty specialists are struggling badly at the moment.

We waived and designated Hirotoshi Ishii (2-2, 6.92 ERA) for assignment. Both lefty specialists lost us games against the Phillies, so something had to be done. After four years at AAA, closer Dillon Wilson (1-7-24, 2.25 ERA - AAA) finally gets his chance to shine. The former 26th round pick in 2007 has five pitches and a 94-96 Mph fastball. We are now two games behind the Cardinals, but face the lowly Pirates next.
