Licensing Problem

I was trying to open up the game to play today and when I would attempt it, it would start to run the program and then quickly quit out. After a few tries and a reboot it still did this. I figured the problem would be with the license, so I went to the My Computer, eLicense to unlicense and re-do it and there is nothing there at all.

Noticing that, I uninstalled OOTP, downloaded it again, and reinstalled it.

Still having the same problem. No license in the eLicense folder in My Computer, but when I doubleclick the OOTP5.exe, it attempts to run and then stops. I can't even get it to open up to license the game (however I tried it from another cpu at the house on the network and when I doubleclicked the OOTP5.exe on the base machine, the network machine launched it and asked for a license).

What's the order of business to get it up and running on the main computer?

Elicense launches a service at system startup. Did you check to see if the LicCrtl service is running? I had the same problem on my XP machine and solved it by going to administrativetools/services, clicked on LicCrtl and started it.

Good point, I had not thought of that but if some of you guys are trying to turn off some of the programs that start when you boot your PC "DON'T" turn off the "LicCtrl" as that is what OOTP needs to run.
