Stuck

I am stuck between starting a new MLB association in 18, but with 19 just don't know what to do.

Help. Should I go ahead and play or just wait it out for 19.

This is meant to be fun, but it is a daily battle for me.

For those you that play multiple season, do you keep up with the old version or do you move your MLB to the new version.

Thanks.

Start the next season because you won't want to move your league to 19 until after at least the first and most likely second patch is released.

Every version has something pop up that needs a quick fix - so I usually keep my long term lead on the old version and tinker with the new one for a good month.

The 1st thing i do after a patch or 2 is move over my EBL vs MLB league. Been playing it since OOTP 11 but this current version is since 13.

i keep telling myself i'll move my league over, but after trying a new version for a while, i find i want to play with a whole different focus and i start a new league in the new game ... guess that's the joy of this game, you can play it a million different ways. and i never seem to go back to my older version of the game nor league.

as long as it takes a month to play out your season then I would play out the last season before moving it to OOTP19. If you don't think you can get the season finished before the move then you can make a new game just to play out things you have always wanted to try.

I have NOT had any issues with moving the game to next version

Well said mitchkeen. I usually move my leagues over but find that I play them less because I am off on some different tangent. Still looking for my perfect way to play but I think I am on to something with random debut unaffiliated minors where players can be purchased by ML teams. Good point about not bringing over my latest, greatest idea variant of this great game until the first couple of patches.

What usually happens for me is I will transfer my league and play it for a few weeks. For whatever reason I will abandon that one and start a brand new one. Has happened on every version so far.

I play out most of my games so I have some serious time invested too. Now that I think of it, my longest played league is a fictional league . I'm in league year nine and that one gets transferred version to version no matter what. I used to be a guy that didn't understand how people got into fictional leagues with fictional players. And now my most important league is fictional.

I play-out all of my games as well.

Last year was my first year using an MLB start (my settings were: No “stars”, trade difficulty very hard/favor prospects, 20 to 80 scale, all “major” baseball nations, and the rest being the out-of-the box settings, with a few changes to the awards names, such as to "Gold Glove"); it was a total blast!

Now, I’m thinking of starting another, but I need to see how far this current team goes. My draft picks, a couple of my core-long-term signings which are the base of the team, a few under-the-radar trades that turned out to be major contributors, I want to follow them for a while.

I’m also curious how this team will fair in the new version, with all the updates. Still, I’m going to finish out the current season; I started a couple prior, but restarted for whatever reason so I’m only at the end of the 2019 season. I will wait till the off-season to convert to the OOT19.

All that said, I do plan to start a new MLB start team.
