Retired player comes back?

Had a player in 1939 have a career ending injury with a concussion. Played 1940 out. In the 1940 offseason I was looking at my roster and he was back!? No announcement or fanfare. Just back on my roster. Only reason i realized is my pro team had 41/40 guys on the roster. Anyone seen this?

this may require storylines to be active? 'global' or 'game' settings in game. 1 or the other

i have seen it, but i have not seen it happen to any of the players i pay attention to in multiple ootp releases. i think i had storylines on the one time i saw it occur.

I explored this a little. I looked at the MLB and there were a couple of dudes in their 40’s. One guy was 47. He had been retired since 1932 and now came back in 1941 and was just put on a roster. A couple of others as well in same boat

I’ve never seen this before so I can only equate with this 2 possible causes (theories if you will). 1. I retired a player. Italo Chelini. I screwed with his modifiers and he became too good almost like a cyborg. So he had a forced retirement at 26. That’s when I saw a player re emerge on my roster who I lost to a career ending concussion.

2. World war 2? I don’t play with players missing years due to history but maybe this triggers some dudes to come back?

All in all a little weird but kind of funny. Some guys coming back for a last hurrah. Can’t retire without whetting the whistle One

if the CEI is related, it is "Storylines" for sure.

checkbox on Global Settings page. if you don't like it you can prevent it.
