Minor league team losing all players

So I have imported a OOTP16 game from 17 and now to 18. It has worked like a charm.

For this season, since there was a re-alignment in the minor leagues IRL, I tried to copy that by re assigning the minor league teams of the clubs involved. I did it with help from this forum by going to commish mode and send all players on the team that is changing affiliation down, change the affiliation, and then promote them again.

However this seems to have bugged the Carolina Mudcats that former was the Braves High-A club and now is the Brewers High-A club. Every other day their entire roster (now with Brewers minor leaguers) dissapears. When I try do finalize the day, OOTP tells me that they have too few players. I then go to Milwaukee and click AI set up entire organization, and then the Mudcats have a team again.

But I have to do it over and over again every other day. I can't figure out why.

And even more strange, whent he Mudcats are without players, they seem to just dissapear. They don't go to any other team in the Brewers organization, but then they come back when I reset with the AI setup organization button.

I wish I could find a way to stop this from happening. I guess I have a workaround, but if this starts to happen to more and more teams, my entire universe will be in jeopardy.

Anyone else that has encountered this?

(it started after the last patch)

quick fix, go to that team and "fill" with players... they will be 99% junk, fyi. so, shouldn't unbalance anything. should at least allow you to advance, maybe next day allows for more luck? if not in season or during important time period of course.. try other stuff first in that case.

does changing affiliation cause players to move around? if not don't worry about hte promotion demotion thing. i don't remember this being a probelm but i may have been working with empty teams, i cannot recall exactly.

somethign odd happened, either self-inflicted or a db corruption. you could export players and verify teamid's are not off for some reason, i guess.

test with backup, because it saves so much time while doing it. move a player, see of anythign shifted, if no players move around the AI has not run any process to do so... usually this requires a change of day or an even to start -- like opening day causes a 'setup entire system' to be run for AI. ( just as if you clicked it for your team in Rosters and Transactions screen)

if you save the game after re-doing the affiliations, i don't see how it could revert.

double chekc settings rules, make sure soemthign isn't causing it.. like some rule for 1:1 mlb:mil teir or something -- no, i don't think that exists, lol. but, there's so many options and settings, it's possible i'm not thinking of the potential cause off the top of my head.

This sounds like a random bug/file corruption.

I get that as well where minors usually below AA has issues in filling roster spots .... what I do is to get FAs no matter how low of talent level it is I just have them fill in the spots as they be free and better than ghost players

This just happened to me as well...and all the players from that minor league team became free agents (to include some of my high draft picks). Any way to fix this that doesn't involve a backup or using commissioner mode to get them all back (without having to pay $$$ for them)?
