Need help on trading draft picks
I wanted to try trading draft picks to see what the AI does
I made sure the trade draft picks option is ON in settings But now I cant find where or how you actually offer a draft pick trade. Could someone please walk me through it PS I tried finding it on the general trade player screen but I cant find anyway to include a draft pick |

drop down boxes on trade screen. below where players involved in trade are listed, above currently selected list of players - i.e. Prospects or AAA etc.

says i have to sign in... if it's missing it would be blank or greyed out 5 dropdown boxes... very obvious. you can attach images here, no need to host elsewhere.
if that's the case settings are off or somethign is corrupt.. more likeyl self inflicted, by % Last edited by NoOne; 02-26-2018 at 03:29 PM. |

I can get the draft picks available to trade in a 2017 season.
Using exact same settings, the picks dont show in older historical seasons. Odd. Last edited by Xogo; 02-26-2018 at 10:41 PM. |

maybe reserve clause or some other financial or other rule based on that historical era, then.
must be a cause. this sort of thign doesn't just happen on accident. mlb draft didn't start until 1965... which year is this? it might be tough to trade draft picks when one does not exist

I've found that after I bumped up the trading difficulty that while normal trades are indeed harder to get out of people, trades involving draft picks have been easier. Seems weird and perhaps my statistical sampling is too small, but it's been my observation over the last two seasons I've run.

it's not a magic bullet on it's own... but if you play with normal or better scouting, you should trade away all your picks, except a minimum to fill mil rosters... amass as many top-5 or top-10 picks that you can get. the rate of success on thos picks is SO much higher that it outwieghs the loss of a few # of picks... may have fewer, but much better. you can have 9 all-star batters+ and 3-5 cy young+ candidates every year, if you do it right. may take a few years to build up mil in order to get 2-5 top picks each year. even "1-2" is enough to dominate. as far as impact on AI -- if you are cutting it close at all with roster #'s in the minors, this will cause an odd team here and there to fall short. this relates back the the first comment made about gm preferences. some gms trade them more than receive them... tehy will be the ones who fall short over time. (probayl prospect vs vet slider? or w/e the editor says thatmakes sense-comissioner mode required to see.) if there is plenty of players all over the place on every team and never drops near ~25 (or available to move there with ai behaviour), then all is well. no worries at all. they don't go hog wild like a human. you won't see chicago with 1-5th pick in the draft etc. Last edited by NoOne; 02-28-2018 at 08:35 AM. |
