So many fun #25s in Blue Jays' history, including Delgado who was noted by JohnReid99 above. Let's start with our first hero, who hit 2 HR in the first ever Blue Jays' game against the White Sox in 1977. Doug Ault #25

Of course I also have to include one of only two Jacksons to ever suit up for the Blue Jays, because...well...just because. Roy Lee Jackson #25

An extremely unheralded, but absolutely critical part of the Blue Jays back-to-back World Championships in 1992 and 1993. Devon White #25

Love watching the current #25 pitch for the Blue Jays. Definitely a pitcher, not a thrower. Marco Estrada #25

On with the greatest lead-off hitters ever - he's not only the all-time leader in stolen bases with 1406,
he also scored the most runs in history with 2295, had the most un-intentional walks (2129) and led off an unbelievable 81 games with a homerun ... #24 Rickey Henderson

17.8 WAR in his 10 years with the Blue Jays, leadoff hitter extraordinaire. Just three weeks away now for those who pre-ordered.

Everytime I see that name I keep thinking the famous at bat with Dave Bergman of 1984 (Bless you boys Wire to Wire Season) and they did it twice. The first time was a 17 (might be 15 i forget exact number) pitch at bat in Detroit on national TV. Then later in the season the same thing only less pitches and Bergman hit it out again in Exhibition Stadium. That's Roy Lee Jacksons legacy |

Ah, the early 60's when men were men and I wasn't born yet.
Don Drysdale brushed back (nearly decapitated) Johnny Logan of the Braves. Logan didn't like it and the benches cleared. Logan reared back to punch Dodger Manager Walter Alston (#24), while in the background, Eddie Mathews tackles and tries to beat the pulp out of Drysdale while Pee Wee Reese tries to stop him. Good times!

He’s the same one I posted link of couldn’t figure out how to put the picture. I still haven’t seen a player yet that made me love the game and baseball the way he did. Not to jack the thread but I was fortunate to have two aunts that worked at Camden Yards and I got to go down under the stadium with them when they turned in their money and they took me down because the O’s were playing the Mariners. I was so sad the visiting team bus had already left well low and behold around the corner came Griffey and his wife and he was having dinner with Cal and his wife at the time (Saturday late day game) and I got to meet Griffey and he was so down to earth and just an as awesome as could be. I was 12 at the time. I could go on and on but I wanted to share the story because it’s an experience I wish everyone could get with their favorite athlete (or entertainer) I was lucky. Two of the Red Sox' most colorful #23s: El Tiante and Oil Can Boyd.
Oil Can still has one of my all-time favorite baseball quotes. After a Red Sox-Indians game at the old Cleveland Stadium (aka "The Mistake on the Lake") was canceled due to fog, Boyd said: "That's what they get for building a ballpark by the ocean." |
