No it does not, you are in temporary control of the nation for the duration of the WCB and after its finished you leave the national job. You are still doing everything you would normally with your mlb team tho

can I get a confirmation on this? I manage every game, won back to back WS & would hate to walk away from that.

managing the WCB sounds fun. any problems with it? I don't remember ever being offered this before (maybe I missed it?).

Easy to get confirmation on this. Save game, back up game and accept offer. If you quit your job to take that job, you revert back to the old save but as someone said already, you don't lose your MLB or current job to manage the wcb tournaments.
