Import of saved game images
I've been playing OOTP since version 2 in 2000, although I've been less active the last few years. I have a universe that I play more-or-less in real time, 40-some leagues. Active in this configuration since version 2006.
I don't recall having this issue before, but importing from 2017 to 2018 none of my saved game images auto-import. None of the person pictures, none of the team or league logos... none of it. I finally sat down to troubleshoot this, and I'm trying to manually copy everything to the correct file structure under XXX.lg/news/html/images/xxx. Any idea why this import doesn't seem to work automatically?

verify that the custom files exist in the correct data\logs , caps etc folder. (not saved game .lg folders, the main "Data" folder)
if you haven't transfered them from old ootp to new ootp, you should definitely do that, so you don't have to select these images in future. the "data" directory folders, not in side a specific .lg folders... if you want your custom stuff to be available for any new league without effort from you. when you load your league, there's a checkbox to re-load logos and such, try that. if the names of the logos and such match city/nickname it should automatically fix it. Do you happen to have any year ranges in the file names? if you need an example look in existing data directories (not saved game). if it's named to end in 2017, maybe that's a problem? i've never used years in the naming of files... not sure what would happen without a "2018" file name after that range of time ends. so, chekc naming is correct, use re-load of picture files and it should be fine. the old newstories... that may require what you are doing right now... plop it all into existing folders for "news" and such. that stuff is generated at the time, so it won't adjust to future changes to things. |
