Financials off - slightly confused!

I'm trying to mimic an amateur league, so naturally I'm playing with financials off. However every team's History shows mega-millions for Payroll each season. I've checked that none of the players or coaching/ management staff is being paid a salary, so where does the Payroll figure come from? And can I eliminate it?

it's probably off or not functioning and it's just not zeroed out for our eyes, or it needs to be non-zero under-the-hood?

if there are no repercussions it's just asthetic in nature. budget related stuff most likely i'd assume.

oh, was it a recent change in an existing league? there may be leftover info in db for year 1-2-...-10 for contract info from before the change... max contract length would be the last year you see these remnants, if that's the case.

maybe even seed players start with inistial contract when created, regardless of finances being on/off... sim out ~10 years and see if it disappears, i guess? (use a backup!)

i've never played with finances off, so not 100% sure on the mechanics that replace it.

Thanks, No One. I'm pretty sure you're right, and that it's just cosmetic. I'm still in preparation mode, so I set the league up 10 years before I really want it to start. I've tried one or two different things, corrected some stuff and now I'm 2 years away from my "deadline day", so I hope you're right and it may just disappear!
