The Worst News you've ever gotten in season
I've been managing the Pirates since 1901. Was able to draft Babe Ruth. Have had a nice run. Won 2 straight World Series. And then I get this news... F*#*#*@!
Lets start a chain of the worst OOTP news you've received... |

With an injury like that, I wish you could bring him out of retirement as a DH. The torn rotator cuff could be rehabbed to allow him to swing a bat.

I had Ender Enciarte have a career ending injury in only like 2018. He was coming off a 4 WAR, gold glove season hitting over .300.

It’s taking all of my powers to not go rogue “commissioner mode” style and make like the injury never happened. But most of me is saying this is what makes ootp great when you are crushing it after winning 2 World Series and then your best player is snatched from you and your dynasty is done.

Worst event I had was Dave Parker sustaining a career ending injury while still in AAA. Didn't get a single MBL at bat from him.
Second was Jim Northrup having a career ending injury part way through his break out season in which he made the all star team. |

In an online league with the Milwaukee Brewers I let the contract of my regular catcher run out, leaving me with a mediocre back-up catcher.
The plan was to bring up my 5-star prospect, who was tearing apart AAA and even was from Milwaukee. 23 with a bright future ahead ... and just before Spring Training this bastard announced that he'd retire to pursue a professional golf career

@Germaniac
I could be off, but I believe the quote you have in your signature is from Branch Rickey...not Happy Chandler. Though Chandler has a similar quote about fighting in Okinawa and playing ball in America.

It's the same news and I've gotten it several times. I carefully trade away overpaid bums to free up salary and then throw it at an FA (usually SP). And then the name goes red

In my inaugural draft, I picked a 22 year old CL with potential ratings of 80/80/80. He made it 9 games before he suffered a CEI. He'd be 36 now if he came out of retirement.
