Trade Engine

Can you adjust the trade engine so the computer submits better trades.... They always seem to be more lopsided and favor the cpu team...

you can adjust frequency of trades and each gm has sliders for how they evaluatute players -- portion of stats & ratings etc. That's controlled by the AI Evaluation settings. obviously coaches deviate, but the settings set the baseline from which coaches' sliders are created.

there's a 'blue' function on ai evaluation settings page, if i remember correctly. it re-does gm/coaches for new ai eval values, or they'll just be the new ones created over time and older coaches/gm's will have to retire. reasons to do both

i don't know of anything else you can do... i guess affecting money supply would have effects on trading too, but less direct.

i don't know of any sports game where you can rely on the ai sending you trade offers, anyway. from a video game perspective that's a bit like spoon feeding.

it's not useless info, though. when they try to get a player, you can probably set up a countertrade that brings back more value than any other random team in the league. if it's not a player you want to trade, put use the 'untouchable' list to avoid emails.

same with 'shop player around'. if you take the first offer from that list, you are probably underselling your asset. it is good info, as above. the teams that offer more on this screen value that player more and have assets to pay for that demand.

in either instance, load up trade screen and start perusing their 25-man or mil prospects. need a more targetted approach? find ~equivalent prospects and pick based on how your assets match team need from strenghts and weaknesses color code on trade screen.

the ai will never give you these things freely, so you'll pay more if you don't put a little elbow grease into it.

I'm not talking about trade for player.... I mean when a teams offers to trade with you... its usually really bad... Just want realistic trades if offered a trade.... something that works for both teams... rather your rebuilding and given decent prospects for quality players... or if you win now you get good players offered for my prospects... just trades that make sense

I have found that 99% of the time, the AI offers you a bench player for your bench player + your 5-star prospect, which makes the AI offer trade feature a waste of time.

But one time, I have been offered a fair deal: a starting caliber OF for a number 3/4 starter and I accepted. It worked out well for both sides over the next few years, slight advantage to my side.
